I replaced the 15 year old (but looking brand new) tyres today. I went for Toyo Proxes Comforts in 195/60R15 . They got an excellent review in the Auto Express test against some pricey competition. They feel good on today's damp roads.

I hope they're better than the Toyo T1-Rs I fitted last time round (several people more or less raved about them)... made my car feel like it was on castors. Ended up following Adam Q's (I think) advise and running them at what seemed like a silly low pressure but they're still horrible.
Before them I had Eurotour 408 (some obscure thing you've never heard of) that were a size too large but gripped much better and more predictably.
At the time I think one of the few alternatives in this size were Yokohamas at about £150 a corner... eek

I ended up with bridgestone turanza on the back wheels and they are great. Have done a couple of track days including Donington in the wet and they just grip. The dunlop blue response I had on previously were pretty good for grip but I completely wore them out after about 3k miles and one track day.
