Hi,Guys, oh, and gals if there are any! Have just joined the TVR ''club''and am tidying some loose edges on my new toy. Does anyone out there there know which manufacturers parts bin TVR delved into to provide the petrol flap Hinge/spring assembly for Late Wedges (i.e.390SerII)? I''ve scoured a couple of car breakers and so far ruled out Rover SD1,Ford Granny MKII and Ford Capri MKII. Cheers Andy

Is it the flat sprung steel type spring? You may be able to "tweek" it into shape, if its in one piece.

To Jmorgan Thanks for replying,Yes it is the flat metal spring variety with a rusty roll-pin as a hinge, unfortunately the metal spring is snapped off before even the hinge:-(

I had a Rover 25 for a hire car today (don't boo) but it had the same type of flap as a wedge. Might be worth a look at the hinge, looks like it might be a decent alternative. Might be a few knocking about down the scrappy.

Thanx for your numerous replies, guys.Your response was really overwhelming!!
Seriously,i know it was a 'toughy',and after some serious sleuthing, i have discovered that the Spring is undoubtedly a ford parts bin special. Ford Granada MkI will fit with a bit of bending (Pins are exactly the same dia.and length) Ford Cortina MK 4/5 the same. But i ended up using a MkII Granada Spring (the plastic flap variety) Which needed no bending however the end fittings need to be squeezed to fit the pins and the excess metal removed with a Dremel cutter.
Alls OK now. had the Hinge assembly chrome plated while it was off by the way (sad eh?)
