Possibly from a Classic Range Rover tailgate too. If money is tight, could be worth a couple of quid at a breakers to try a couple...
Failing that, I'm currently making up a manual bonnet support since my mounts have been gradually cracking and working loose from the body. I bought 2 different sizes of hollow round tubing (8mm and 12mm from memory). I cut a couple of pieces to a similar lengh to the original gas strut, and since they slide into one another it forms a kind of gas strut, but without the gas! Welded the original metal ball joints to the ends so that they attach to the mounts on the car, and drilled a hole through one of the tubes so that a spring clip could be pushed through when the bonnet is at the required height.
The bonnet only needs supporting on one side, and with the above design, the mounts in the body don't have the forces of the original gas strut acting on then when the bonnet is closed, thus preserving their life. Also cost about £4 in parts...

The struts from a Daewoo Matiz back hatch are very similar to the wedge ones. They are slightly higher rated at 150N. Got some from a breakers for £5 and fitted them to the boot on a 350i mk1 with no issues, the mounts are identical, tubes are similar section but a bit longer. Used on the boot they were fine, not sure if the extra length would matter on the bonnet though?
www.strutsdirect.co.uk I replaced my 350i bonnet and boot struts about 6 years ago and theyre still fine. Can't quite read the part numbers on them now though.
all given links are well know to me, but as said: i dont want to order in UK.
the car is located not in Uk i should find an identical type, which i can order locally..outside UK.....shipping from UK costs more than the items cost.
so i need some cross-reference....
485mm, 489mm or 500mm length would be ok....stroke needs to be 200mm...and 100-120Nm

Remove the struts and fit a stay.
Pretty simple designs have been shared on here and Facialache all from parts that should be universally available around the world.
Ball joint, hollow rod and a quick release ball joint. Although eyelet or small rose joint could substitute the first ball joint.
