Hi I was getting a 350 i from a mate that needs lots of work, but have been researching a Delta Integrale looks very good as well. I know they are a very different car, I am on a limited budget, (I know they are both expensive to run) any sujestions, I am interested in 0 to 60 times doing much more that that nowdays is asking for a ban, also any views on radar guns/Gatsos spotters.

thanks

Personally I would go for the 350i. Lancia's are probably more fragile. I also prefer a soft top. We timed my 350i recently, as best we could as the speedo often fails to keep up, and between 5 and 6 seconds was averaged 0-60. My car only has simple mods. A rising rate fuel regulator and K&N plus 'competition' leads, correct plugs and always uses super unleaded. All of these made a noticable improvement in performance. It also has adjustable shox (AVO's)

I would not use the TVR in winter or with a hangover though! Many do but I thinks its really a toy for summer.

You just cannot beat a V8 for noise.....

Toughy this-you're naturally going to get a pro TVR response from TVR forum: but from a non biased view I have owned both cars, a 1990 G 8V, went like stink, 0-60 very similar to the 350i, top end slightly down in comparison, mid range pull was more in favour of the turbo, cornered on rails, better economy than the V8 give or take, good for all weather but more fun in the winter. Repairs were extortionate if you took it to a specialist, I found a local Integrale nut who was superb and meant running it was not as bad as first thought. Watch for rust, if imported it will probably have the benefit of a warmer climate, get it waxoiled, either way have it completely checked - they go across the rear of roof & wheel arches. The engines & mechanicals are strong if cared for, electrics can be poop (sounds familiar). You can also scare the cr*p out of your passengers when overtaking (being a left hooker) having the benefit of seeing through the bends before they can - of course great care is still needed here! As for the 350=no greater feeling than a V8 on full song with the hood down. Pound for pound I'd still go for the V8, I don't really miss the Grale, but could have cried when I gave up the 350, these days with the law in full camera mode, you can at least enjoy the benefit of the car being more of a head turner. Speed detector worth having is Bell 595 or later model (£350).
Happy hunting. S
