Last weekend i removed the engine from the SEAC for the second time after hearing a rather not so good noise from the dizy can drive gear once again coming back from classic LeMans...buggre, so the decision was made to remove strip and inspect fully and i dont do thing by half, so after removing all mounting bolts, pipes, electrics and got the engine hocked up to the block and tackle, started to remove the engine and what did i forget to do, one gear box bolt, once removed the engine came out like a peach got it mounted on a stand, stripped and my local engineer had a look to check a few things.
Every thing looks good inside, just need the crack polished, we didnt take the heads off this time as there was no need, so will need almost all gaskets for the rebuild, a new dizy drive gear and not one of those cheep ones from china....dose any one know of an upgraded oil pump...flow pressure...?
I did find the oil pressure release valve stuck in the closed posision but ive worked on the housing and its moving nicely now.
So next will be a the rebuild and while the engine is out ill change the gear box mounts and replace the oil with the castrol smx stuff plus with the engine out and the car not going to be ready for the rusty (shame) i will get a few other bits sorted out and bolted in.
Ill post some pics soon.
So this weeked had been about cleaning the old hrt and mating surfaces...lovely...

Had a mate lathe me up a couple of fuel rail supports after I mangled one of them taking one of the rails off.. oops.
Spent last weekend making a electric ps pump bracket and welding it to the chassis then painted it. Looks pretty good, just need to bolt it up this weekend end and add a few pipes for the fluid, oh and reconnect the anti roll bar.
No idea how to wire it up though.. the wires are massive .. probably 30+amps.

Cheers fella... the previous owner (and the one before him, who lives up around East Kilbride) threw money at this car like you wouldn't believe. New carpets, new roof, resprays, expensive tyres, suspension rebuilds, stainless exhaust, duplex timing gear, lots of alloy bling. I have receipts for over £21,000 that they spent plus another couple of grand that I've laid out... and it was a 23 grand car new! Bottomless pit? Oh yes.Cambelt
It was a lovely car when I bought it, sadly it's looking its age now as it could do with another roof, new leather, alloy refurb, another respray... but that said, it all still hangs together however scruffy. The carpets still look OK though...
