tt!!

they are my fishing pants, and they are hiding a girdle under there to keep my spine from popping out!!

In answer, the chassis will hopefully be nestled under my blue 2+2 in the near future, along with A frame suspension and 390 SE suspension and LSD.

I rest my case!!

Interesting - what's the X-axis? Valve lift in inches?

What's the pressure - 25" H20 or Hg?

Hi

I went down to my garages yesterday to find some parts needed for my 280i FHC project.
Plus some spare wheels for my 350SE project, so it can go to the paint shop whilist its own wheels are being refurbished.

I was surprised how many spare wheels I have.yikes

eek (So I don't get this post deleted.)
I will sort them out soon and and then follow the correct PH procedure rolleyes

I wonder if the Zigsta is getting the early Telcasts and later cross-spokes mixed up: the Telcasts were originally 'diamond cut' leaving a near-miror bare alloy surface... that corrodes like a Fiat X1/9 when you turn your back biggrin

Hi Ian...I was considering getting mine refurbed at some point and having the lattice gold re-painted and the rims diamond cut to a nice mirror finish..The silver coating on a couple of mine has flaked off in places and there is some pitting..I would have to keep them polished which i dont mind doing..I like shiny.. wink

You could do, and then have the machine-cut area clear lacquered. Should slow down the rate of 'decomposition' biggrin

I'm not sure if I should admit it on this forum but I used to have a 911 with Fuchs alloys, the rims of which were polished but not lacquered.

A quick polish with Vaseline every few months kept them in perfect condition.

However one of them was always a bit duller than the others, I suspected it wasn't original maybe a repro - so the quality of the metal probably is important.

Im not a great fan of lacquer..Alloy oxidation starts to happen very quickly although its effect can take a while longer to be visible..I did initially want the rims polished & lacquered but the wheel refurbing company advised me not to have them lacquered as the alloy will start to oxidize underneath..The lacquer will need to be removed and the alloy polished again...The cutting is done after the wheels have been cleaned..Machined and coated/painted..There are a variety of waxes and sealants for mirror polished alloy's..They will need sealing due to brake dust and other foreign bodies..i;e Road scag!...Especially near the wastelands and beyond the Thunderdome...hehe

Well.....

I've actually opened the garage door, had the car out (new battery actual holds charge smile) and installed some lights that used to be in my office at work but where going in the skip, It's a rented lockup with no power but someone gave my dad a ADLI 2 stroke generator... so let there be light !

scratchchin wonder if there is enough juice for the telly..... however the £40 Genny is a bit noisy for evening use so I'll be e-baying for a suitable inverter.

Zig,

I was always under the impression that as long as lacquered ali was free of chips or scuffs then the ali was protected.

Only when it was open to the elements did oxidation occur?

Now if you want wheel corrosion problems then you want magnesium alloys!
