Playing around with a couple of cooling tank options for the SEAC.....one from an early pre serp chim and a similar but modified one.....aim is to rid the spaghetti pipes in my engine bay with a neater / simpler look like on the first griffs and chims

At first glance the standard one will fit but it's kinda close to the power steering pump (which I may take out as the steering is too light for my liking)

Will report back :-)

Sunday should be a free day for me, so I plan to change the near side wheel bearing while the rack is away being refurbished by Kiley. Also hoping to change the lower steering bearing as it also has some free play.

Looks an easy job that only needs the upper steering UJ removing and the bolts on the bulkhead.

Also need to beef up the fuel pump wiring but not sure it will be possible in the time and with the rear of the car not so accessible at the moment due to working on the front. Small garage its better that no garage.

More BBWF prep...

Last weekend: a new dizzy cap, rotor arm and HT leads (found no.3 was broken), which cured misfire.

Today: Repaired windscreen trim, cleaned and conditioned seats, cleaned door cards. Bought a new grease gun for the rear UJ's (couldn't find my old one - think I loaned it to someone and never got it back). Bought a machine polisher. Started putting the kit of tools, fluids and spares together that I plan to take...

Still plenty to do, but getting there!

Fitted a new ignition module to the 390 after it badly let me down on Friday night. One minute it was running, and the next it was as dead as UKIP's chances of getting a parliamentary seat.

Just over an hour spent flushing the clutch and refitting the slave, and then a new sterring universal joint.

Also greased one rear UJ after the rear brakes overheated.

Just had some good news from Emerald - my mapping slot has been moved forward from 7th July to 27th June.

Whoopee bounce

Just got to arrange for it to be transported.

Rack is at Kylie for refurb. Hopefully it will be back by the weekend.

It still has no MOT, no miles under its wheels, throttle that sticks when hot.

Bit risky for early July but never say never.

Found the reason for the rattling suspension noise on the 390SE - top wishbone bushes on the offside had disintegrated. Fortunately had a set in stock so only took an hour to take things apart, fit new bushes and put it all back together again. Easy fix.

Spent just under an hour fitting one handbrake pad.

Watton eh? That's 40 miles past me, but I'll keep an ear out....

UJ's greased. Front bumper seal fitted. Xenon driving light bulbs fitted. Scuff on newly refurbished wheel repaired... Engine bay cleaned up a bit in between wheel repair stages. All levels checked. Should just be a matter of a wash and polish next weekend, then all ready for Wedgefest!

My SEAC is now at Emerald for mapping and a bit of issue fixing.

Looking forward to its return in a few days.

Will report back :-)

So 10cm cut off and the outlet hose moved. But will it clear the power steering bracket?

Trial fit....woo hoo perfect. Just waiting for some 90 degree hose to arrive then I can get it plumbed in and loose all the old stuff (mental note to self, make sure all is fine before ripping it all out lol)
