Reverend , any more info on that polishing machine of yours , where did you get it and maybe a pic ? Apologies if you've been asked the same question before !

Bought it from paints for u :

www.paints4u.com/productsbyCat.aspx?MainCategoryID=26&MainSelection=20&SubCategoryID=186&Subselection=9

cost was £45 but then you have to buy various pads .. mine ended up at £150 but I did need to compound and then fine polish the entire car.

The final polish is 8 weeks later.

There are cheaper machines around to just add polish..

Fitted the starter motor, Flywheel cover plate and clutch slave cylinder.

The clutch feels quite nice - nice an smooth and not as heavy as I thought it might be as I've swapped to a McLeod American single plate 10.5 inch clutch (up from 9.5 inch)... hoping it will work OK when I get around to starting the engine as I lathed off 10mm from the release bearing yikes

Also fitted the solid lifter push rods.. after measuring the lift at the camshaft with my dial guage to check that the cam I asked to be fitted was actually the one that was fitted. Correct - lift = 0.505 inch biggrin

Sadly the garage that fitted the cam did not fit the valves supplied in the kit but I purchased a new set of doubles and Beastie fitted them last Saturday.. biggrin

Then it got dark biggrin

Tonight I : fitted the headlights, headlight trim panels, compounded the nose cone
(the chocolate brown came up a treat..hehe) fitted the side indicators, filled the SEAC front perspex
cover and finally added the TVR badges front and rear.

It's starting to look like a SEAC again biggrin

Heads on, nearly torqued down .. new torque wrench did not arrive. Tappets set, inlet manifold more or less done inc new 3mm thermal barrier.

Crank pulley removed - no luck fitting 36-1 timing wheel .. cant see how that is fitted..

Exhaust header modified to accept latest bosche lambda and exhaust gas temp sensor and headers fitted.

Sadly the water pump gasket was incorrect - so that's delaying things..oil system and front pulleys still to do.

This evening - I reconnected the oil pipes and squired engine oil down the pipes .. the re-pressurised the oil system by taking the dizzy out and in around 10 seconds there was oil coming out of the rocker shafts thumbup

And an oil leak from the pipes - just took a spanner to fully tighten the aeroquip connectors and job done biggrin

Fitted some ARP exhaust bolts - to one bank of the vee.. as I had a few of the originals missing .. not really time to retro fit them to the other bank.

Now on to the electric fans - 12 inch and 14 inch - one a sucker and the other a pusher on opposite ends of the rad.. lucky it's a long radiator.

Did try reversing the blade to have a sucker on the 14 incher but the curved blade really seemed to work well in just one direction - inspite if the advertising blurb.. sorry - did not believe it !

Found a small oil leak .. traced it today to one of the rocker cover gaskets..

Small job for this evening..

Also need to complete the cabling for my new super 14 inch fan.. to assist the 12 inch original.

Fitted a cork gasket - 'cause that's what I've got (4 of them..) and blue hylomar to keep it in place.

Why do they always make the cork gaskets too big rolleyes?

Anyway - it all went together OK and the show stopper oil leak is fixed. No more burning oil on the exhaust manifold thumbup

Next - started to wire up the secondary fan (14 inch) and it did not go well - the relay was making very strange noises and the voltage at the fan was less that idea (8V) .. could not easily find the problem - so I wired the fan to a switch and left off the temp controller.. really running out of time frown Also left enough cable to pull the switch into the car thru the window.

Discovered that only 1 headlight pod raises - so got that to sort out tomorrow.

Also have problems with the exhaust manifold to system joints - had ordered the bits on Wednesday - but parts still not here today - so parts supplier has sent a second set and I've ordered another set from someone else : So will probably have 3 sets tomorrow biggrin

Might even go out for a 30 min drive tomorrow - even thought it does sound a bit like a dragster at Santa Pod biggrin

Went to the train station and back today - car ran nicely and without problems.

It sure turns heads hehe

It also sounds like a dragster biggrin

Just one more mechanical job for tonight - fit the new exhaust sealing rings between headers and system and some new cotton reels.

Fix the exhaust leaks tonight - use new sealing rings between manifold and system.

All nice and gas tight now.

Sounds fantastic.. and loud !
