Some wedges have better ventilation than others. A few of the earlier cars have the air inlet in the engine bay. Some with a pipe thru the inner wings. Mine just takes it from in the car. Nuts. No wonder why they steam up.keeping the windows open 1 inch and never park the car with warm air.. fan off, windows open to get rid of it.
Also leave an aero 360 in the car to get rid of moisture.

Outriggers completed. Painted. Body all aligned and bolted up with new stainless bolts.
Fuel tank refurbished, new cross tank hose fitted as well as tank to fuel pump hose.
Next job is to check the cam.. I think the cam profile has worn so need to pop the rocker covers off to check.
Got a new cam, solid lifters and vernier sprocket just in case.. 99% sure it is. New cam should make mot emissions easier. New cam is an M238.

Oil and water drained down, just starting strip down and check of components.

Job for tomorrow. Bit of a clean up around the gasket area and lube spindle area as it's a bit sticky. Nice indoor job as weather looks crap for Sunday.

Re the crank nut, I undid mine with the bar front the trolley jack, its about 5 feet. Luckily I have a trigger wheel on the crank
so I held a screw driver against a slot in that wheel under the water pump housing to stop any movement with one hand and
put pressure on the 5 ft bar with the other.

Removed old cam and checked it against new
Managed to spill the bottle of cam lube on the floor whilst doing the tricky job of cam installation with the rad in situ. It can be done but it's tight. Damm that lube is messy to clean up.
Timed up cam. New vernier looks good.

Next job on the snag list for next weekend is to reseal my exhaust manifold of the passenger side
as its leaking and could be affecting my lambda readings.
I'm waiting for a supplier to have a set cut out of copper but he is taking forever despite my chasing so it
looks like high temperature silicon it is.

Had a bit of trouble starting the car after the new cam had been run in for 25 mins..
Decided the old battery was partly to blame as it only turned the engine over for 4 good turns then started to fade quickly.
It was 7 years old, so not too bad really.
Decided on a type 096R, dimensions are 278L x 175W x 190H, specifications are 12V 74Ah 680A £65 with a 4 year guarantee from Tayna batteries
but these are a tight fit. Bit of filing required.
Next my old leads were a bit rubbish, 10mm but the plug caps kept pulling off, so 10mm get no recommendations here, so I have not fitted a set of
bespoke 8.5mm leads from Mr Retro Leads. All custom made to length, with angled plug caps. All in £80. Very reasonable.
Next, cleaned the plugs and treated them to a bit of heat with a blow torch to get rid of any fuel, that was after 2 hours of searching my workshop
for the plug sandblaster. I'm convinced there is a portal to another world in my workshop, things disappear and reappear at random.
Now for the good news, the car started second turn.
Sadly the video cut just before I started to rev it a bit..

Yes, breeze block. I have a section of carpet on the wall by the drivers door.
My next job if to hot adjust the tappets to 22 thou, as the cam is now run-in.
