My lefthand headlight pod retracts further that it should by about half a Cm. Its a little noisy also. Any suggestions?

You need to adjust the arm. Raise the headlights, remove the fuse or relay so the headlight stays up. Then remove the lamp and you will be able to access the arm. While you are at it I suggest you remove the motor and grease the gearbox in the motor as it is the porbable cause of the noise.

My bumb stop (best way to describe it) was falling off. Bit of rubber attached to the front of the pod well. Re-attached and ok. Not saying thats your cure but it was in my case. Early 350.
