Got one for my 280 from a scrappy. It took a while to source. Don't make the mistake I did and make sure that the three 'ears' are in the right place. There are at least a couple of variations!

Steve.

Gemini,
If it is broken there's not a lot you can do.
But if you have just stripped a thread then you can either put in a helicoil or drill out the remaining threads and bolt right through from front to back, a 4 inch 6mm nut and bolt will do it.

What do you mean, "rear"? Doesn't it just bolt onto the engine?

It is a two part assembly, the front, where the thermo goes and behind the water pump housing there is another bit.
They "sandwich" the bottom corner of the water pump housing.

Probably worth a ring, their website sometimes isn't the best for finding things. I got a Pinto engine thermostat housing from them a while back, it's not on their either......

Just had a quick look in the garage (the night is young!) 'cos I may have one, but I can't look any further without making some noise. I did give Graham Walden a pile of Tasmin engine bits a couple of years back, can't recall exactly what was in there though.
I think the XR4i's housing was different, so you need an earlier motor than that. There's quite a good breakers at Guisborough (S.P. Morgan) if that's not too far for you....?

I'm sure you're reluctant to sell her Rich :-) Have you seen the error of your errant ways and decided to keep her after all?

cheers
