Here we go....!

Well, I've finally taken the plunge and bought a TVR 280i DHC - and what a load of sheds I had to look at to find a half decent one. Or at least one I thought was decent. On the way home:
- it started raining - switch windscreen wiper on, and the wiper blade and head falls off. Someone had jammed the wrong wiper blade head on the arm
- no dash lights, so no idea what speed I'm doing. Bu**ger
- no main beam headlights
- gear knob comes off in hand
- heater completely non-functional
- bonnet wouldn't close
- drivers side door handle jammed in lock position, and caring previous owner didn't give me the separate key to unlock it!
Since then, water pouring out of bottom of car, various bits of dash and trim falling off around me, rev counter doesn't work, radio + aerial doesn't work, and I've never seen such large collection of bare wire connections under the bonnet in my life. Oh, and I caught the corner of the bumper on the garage (ar**se!)
But you know what? I don't care! The sound it makes as you accelerate, the looks you get from passing motorists/pedestrians, the way everyone stops and lets you out, and the number of people who just want to talk about the car just make it all worthwhile. And I just love the shape!
See you out on the road!

Hmmm... a minor problem has developed. I parked the car in the garage with the passenger door up against the wall so I had room to get out, and forgot that the drivers side door lock was jammed in the locked position. Bu**gger!
Luckily there's a big gap between the top of the window and the Targa top - looks like this weekend I will mostly be trying to break into my TVR!

if its the convertible you have, and you need to get in, slip a brush handle underneath the rear section of the roof behind the door. You can use it to undo the roof stays and bingo you have access to the car without any damage/fuss. I have also successfully got in using a couple of cable ties tied together with a loop round the end to pull up the door knob. I need to get a decent alarm fitted
Welcome to the Club - sounds like a typical Wedge day you've had. My recent aquisition a 420SEAC looked (looks) and sounds fantastic. New tyres - one now got a puncture, Leaky Rad, Leaky NS Damper, Leaky Fuel lines, Glove box opens on accel but can't get it open when stationary, Can't here the CD for noise from the exhaust(oops sorry thats the good bit - don't need a CD player). Drivers door sticks, can't get the passengers door open from outside, Exhaust is rattling. But ohh when it goes --ooer..BBW-- Luurvely.
