Silicone off of Paint?
Discussion
Recently had a sh*tty windscreen replacement at a 'noted' dealer in the Midlands. The dealer who performed the job put an extra rubber trim strip around the windscreen (not original) and it wasn't adhered correctly. Subsequently lost a piece of trim strip on my trip home from England, and the rest started coming off as well. I've decided against the trim strip, and am wanting to tidy up the screen as per originally installed. The question: Is there any way to get silicone adhesive off of paintwork without marring the paint?
Thanks in advance for your advice

Hi Shawn,
How are you ? You have been quiet for a month or so !!!
Have you tried Autoglym resin polish, that seems to loosen most stuff without marking, it got a nasty glue stain off my 450.
Sorry to hear that the overall British craftmanship done to your wedge was crap. Has the offending party apologised yet ???

Hi Nigel/John:
Thanks for the tips, and will most likely try both.
On the way back from Backhome, I lost the passenger side strip on the freeway at 80ish. So, I had the 'midlands dealer' send me some new trim strip. Once I had it, and upon closer inspection, the whole idea is bad. The windscreen isn't exactly flush with the pillars (slightly high on one side). Therefore, it doesn't want to seat down properly, and I think in the long-run, it will be problematic due to this. So, I'll fix the problem with your help of course.
Thanks again. Going to Mania Nigel? I'm tempted.
