Should I or shouldn't I?
Has anyone fitted after market wheels to their wedge?
It sees to be 'not the done thing', but surely it can't be too bad, if you don't go mad.
I'm aware of the trouble with offsets, body clearance (I already have a nice hole in my offside arch from my OZ's). Given I can can get around/live with these issues, what d'you reckon?
I was thinking about 17 inch or so...

Just wondering what the wheels on my 350i II are ?

Think they are the standard wheels 15inch with a kind of X pattern that goes in concentric circles outwards to the rim. Anybody know what I mean ?

Quite nice but need a respray of paint I think...

If you are going to fit aftermarket wheels - have a look at the Image Wheels website. Split rims are the only way to go to be in keeping with the cars appearance I think. There is a previous thread with a link to Image's website.

Paul Holland ( 350 ) found that Toyota SWupra wheels were the same offset as his old 350 lattice wheels.

My 280 has 16" Revolution 5 spokes which - IMHO - give it a nice baby-Ferrari look. Or maybe it's the Ferrari-red paint or an over-active imagination. hmm, need a chrome shift gate next

Some mercs have the same offset - so there should be plenty of AMG style etc options

I bought the 16" OZ's off Wedge Pages which were off a Merc. They look identical to the 400 style wheels but the offset is well out and thus needs 10mm spacers and new wheel studs to be fitted; a real PIA - thus take care. I have some 17 x 8.5 AZEV's on the 420 which have the correct offset and as a purist I think they don't suit the car and plan to fit the 16's, above BUT everyone else who sees the car sais the AZEV wheels really look the part.

I have a set of 17" Borbet's on my 350i. Ilike the look and the handling seems ok. Tramlines a bit in the wet but i have'nt driven enough other wedges to know if this is any worse or not. I have had no bodywork clearance problems.
Car can be viewed at www.mickbarrett.com/Vehicles%20Gallery.htm

Good luck,

I just bought a set of original 15 inch ceres wedge wheels, the ones with the mesh pattern, primarily for the set of new tyres on them. They really need to be striped and re-powder coated, has anyone had this done? and can anyone recommend anyone in the cambridge area ?

Do any of you know the sizes and offset of a standard fit wheel? I hate to say this and at the risk of offending everyone, but they do look a LOT like Rover SD1 Vitesse wheels, are they?

The original lattice type wheels are from a Ford Granada MK 2 I believe.

Your 350 is bound to give you grief now; they don't like that sort of talk, especially after the promise of new shoes.
