Roll cages for wedges

I notice that Safety Devices doesn't list a roll cage for any TVR. Grateful for pointers on who to go to (ideally in Surrey/Hampshire) for a road use cage (ie. permitting continued use of the hood on a wedge.
Thx - Streaky
Streaky, two places ... Tower view (They have a rollcentre one), or Peninsula automotive.
I have the new Peninsula Bar in mine, check out the previous thread here

Are you after a full roll cage or just a rear roll bar? If it's an early Wedge (trailing arm) then you may struggle. I looked at this about 18 months ago and couldn't find anyone that made them for the early cars. Ended up getting the hoop supplied by the RollCentre (as in a Tasmin race car) and making the rear supports myself. It's all finished now, so let me know if you want any more detail. Regards.
I've heard both the Tower View and Penninsula items are very good and certainly Jason's car looks great with the Penninsula item. I had the full rollcage for the Rally Wedge (still in build - doh) done by Tarcal in Pershore, Worcester (Unit 15, Pershore Trading Estate) - John Tarpley. John makes bespoke works rally car cages and other fabrications (incl fuel and cooling tanks). He quoted £500 fitted for my 400 road car provided I refitted the carpets (sold the car before done)- he has done them for Wedges via David Gerald. His would be a full FIA aproved job.

At the risk of starting an argument... how fast do you reckon you'd have to go to turn a Wedge over under typical circumstances? Unless your circumstances happen to involve lots of opposite-lock action on a mountain pass of course...
I'd say the kind of accidents one is likely to have, a rollcage wouldn't help much.... though I do hear that they help to stiffen the chassis...

On the subject of roll cages, I looked at a nice 400 for sale with a roll bar fitted, but i prefer the lines of the car without them. Does anyone know ho easily a roll bar can be removed ?
Mine is bolted and welded to the outriggers, and bpolted through the top of the diff hanger. There is fibreglass covering the holes in the boot. I think it takes 3 - 4 hours for Peninsula to fit a bar.

My and LOML's lives saved (I reckon) by Safety Devices roll cage in my Fiat Abarth 850 in a 'meat in the sandwich' shunt outside Chester (C1972). My, LOML's and daughter's lives saved (I reckon) by the Safety Devices roll cage in my FIAT 128 rally car in a 'write off' shunt on the road (C1978) when a Triumph shot a cross-roads in front of me. Saw a driver killed when his MG-A flipped on its side into the Armco on the M6. Had a rear roll bar in my MG Midget (no accidents though ) ... then a procession of company cars I couldn't modify .
I want the comfort of having some topside protection and any chassis stiffening (and presumably 'some' strengthening against side impacts) is a bonus.
I've made it to 55 in more or less one piece, even with being shot at four time (once I got to shoot back ), shot and wounded twice, blown up once and nearly kidnapped once (both in Bogota) . Bomb explosion left me with tinnitus and some hearing loss (40% in left ear and certain frequenciesin the right) ... I don't intend to take more chances than I need to.
Besides, the LOML insists .

Sounds to me like you should change your name from Streaky to Captain Scarlet !
Here is a couple of pictures of the rollcentre rollover bar fitted by Towerview earlier this year. You can see this car in the flesh at Peter Smith Sports Cars Ltd. Although the bar was very well fitted, I have mixed feelings about having one and I'm not going to rush into getting a bar on my SEAC.

Looks nice. Be interested to get a comparison Pic with my bar. Incidently, do you have harnesses ? how do they mount to the bar ?

Mr. Streaky - Certainly don't want to hang around too close to you outside of a car if you attract gunfire and explosions!
Concur Danny's point - speed isn't always the factor in a roll and a slow speed roll in a tin top may result in a bumped head on the roof - in a convertible it could result in a big problem for your hair line as experienced years ago to a friend who rolled his MGB
