hi, my brother is going to be in england for 3 weeks, i have a list of things for him to look into for me, one of them is better brakes for my US model 1985 TVR 280i. i have seen that some of you have done an austin princess 4 pod calipers and vented disk, are these some parts he could go down to the local parts store and buy? if not where can he get them and what are their prices?
thanks

The easiest mod is to simply bolt on the thicker vented disc and bigger caliper from the 2.8 Ford granada. These parts are fairly reasonable from most part factors ( typ 40 quid / disc and 75-90quid / caliper)and will bolt straight on to your existng mounts (with a little back-plate trimming) and the caliper pistons are the same Ø as your current ones but offer a bigger pad area approx 30%.
Princess 4-pots are used on the 'Big wedges' but these are difficult to find these days and quite expensive for what they are. If you're set on 4-pots you'd be better off with a Willwood or similar.

Your brother's 'excess baggage' bill is likely to be on the high side, and those manning the baggage X-ray machines might be a little puzzled

Or you could get your brov to pick these up, if you win the auction :

Supposedly NOS Austin Princess 4 pot calipers. I seem to recall these are the prefered upgrade.
