My glove box would not stay shut, so I bought a new catch and fitted it.

Now it won't open!

Any ideas for getting in without damaging the trim?

There's always a catch. Did you fit the standard loft acess hatch catch?

The catch I fitted had exactly the same dimensions as the one I took out, and I put the screws back in the same holes. Worked fine with half-tight screws, but as soon as I tightedned up, it never opened again!

The female part of the catch that fastens to the undeside of the top face of the glove box compartment, is held on by three small screws and nuts. These nuts are located external to the glove box compartment, ie between the gap of the dash top and the glovebox upper. The bad news is that you could well have to remove the dashboard assembly to gain access. Remove the nuts push the screws inside the glove box and Bobs your uncle.

It's not just the case that the lid has gone IN but not popped OUT, is it? Tried prising the edge of the lid?

Yeah, tried that. The door twists slightly, with the bit holding back being just where the catch is.

I'm really not that bothered about this, except Ibelieve the fuse box is in there somewhere?
