Guy's, i am upset!! I have been out in this gorgeous weather (day off)with the intention of shooting some TVR Wedge straight up my arm. I love my car..maybe just a 350i BUT it IS fast and makes noises that should be bottled.
I thought i would stop by way of a public house, so i did. I parked up right next to the seating area..heads a turning...I LOVE THIS..! Whilst sitting enjoying my drink a young family left and got into their N reg Land Rover Discovery, the little boy looked at my car and said "daddy, look a TVR you want one of those" his dad replied "is it? Oh no that is a very old one son, daddy will get a new much better one!"
What a complete w****r...! This left me quite upset.
As i said i LOVE my Wedge, but what a T****R,I could have smacked him.
I have only recently bought this car...I haven't made a mistake have i?
Please give me some WEDGE support......!!!!!

Mate, all that matters is that you love your car. It may "only" be a Wedge, and I may "only" have an S... but they're TVR's and we love 'em.

I've had various "MG" comments made at my car and "it's not a proper TVR becuase it's not a Griff"... sure, I'd love a Griff, but I can't afford one. In the meantime, I'm happy and I love my S. Gives me a slice of the TVR pie.

Sounds to me like this guy needs a gentle reminder of the fact that TVR would not be producing cars today, if these cars hadn't been made...!

Sod him... just enjoy your Wedge!!!

One of the nice things about my wedge (350) is that it's louder then my father's Griff 4.3!! There's a good old saying: Loud cars, save lives!!

N reg means the year it was made- in this case 1995/6
the 0800 reference is the lan Rover breakdown telephone help line if memory serves!

hail transatlantic cousin!

Even if its an old TVR how many people can say they have a v8 convertible...? Also at least you can drive around with the staisfaction that youre driving around in something unique. I've only passed another wedge on the road once.

Oh yes and what else could you of bought that sounds as good for the same cash?

Look at it this way, he recognised it. Did he know he was getting in a Disco?
According to a pub expert I have a Triumph TVR and its unreliable as it was designed in the 50's.

If you're ever in doubt again, get a hire car, last one was a 1.8 Rover 75 (barge), others have been 1.9TDI Golfs. Welcome to boredom and dull drearyness, they're everywhere. I would rather walk over broken glass than own one! My Wedge despite not having moved for a little while (ahem is sooooooooooo much nicer, sounds better, handles better, goes better, looks better, need I go on?!
