Discussion
Just got my 390 SE out of the garage for a blast down the A64 and the low oil pressure warning light is on.Dipstick shows full, runs on Mobil 1 0w 40,oil and filter last changed about 1500 miles ago.Could it just need priming.Oil not circulating as it should be(sounds dry at the cams!).
Please help!!!!

Could be the oil pressure relief valve, which sometimes seems to vent and then fail to return to it's normal position. I've known a couple of people suffer from the problem on a track day, a sudden surge leaving no oil pressure. Apparently it's a cheap fix and not too much of a problem to do as long as no damage has occured. I guess you'd need expert opinion on cause of problem first though.

The oil is too thin on the winter reading. Change to 15/50 or thereabouts. Did you have any oil pressure at any time during your journey? If so it could be just the oil if not then the oil pump needs to be checked (this also houses the oil pressure relief valve) before turning the engine over again.
