Big Wedge Meet 8th Feb
Discussion
I did a quick route recee(sp?) yesterday, lots of sideways fun, and no static scameras.
How many people will be at the cinema? If anyone is unsure of the run I can print of some directions and hand them out.
Really looking forward to Sunday.
Gavin
Apparently the wedge does spit small flames so I'll be trying for some bigger ones on Sunday.

Washed it, went inside for polish etc; came out and it was hailing! Then it rained, then it stopped. I dried the car off ... and it rained again!
Now it's dark and it's not polished.

I don't mean to make light of your problems, 'cos I had exactly the same today!! I did manage to get it polished though, although that doesn't guarantee what state it will be in after a 70 mile drive to High Wycombe!
See you in the morning,
Rich.
Well made it there under a cloud of steam, overheated coming of the M4, and between the M40 somewhere. Managed to crawl in with temperature hovering just under 100 !!
About 12 cars there all looking good. Told them I would not follow as probably not make it.
Refilled water and started back to Reading on A4, stopped once to refill about 20 mins later after a rest and since then temp has been stable with fan cutting in correctly etc etc. So maybe a stuck thermo or very large air lock. Any way strip down this afternoon to replace thermo and water pump to hopefully stop leaks
Hoped to take some piccies but not even time for that, Saw an old 280 ? around the cinema maybe looking for everyone, and then a group of 4 or 5 wedges coming up from the M4 towards Wycombe - unless that was part of the route ??
Hope to see you all again next time. Engine still fine after heat so just going to keep one eye out for a Griff / chim 4.5 or 5.0 lump just in case and always handy as a spare !!

Was really looking forward to this, but the unfortunate demise of the family pet took precedence. My old dog was put to sleep at 12:30. But I have the happy memory of taking the 16yr old, blind, deaf and eventually immobile Collie out in the wedge just before xmas. However, will look forward to the next meet, especially if I manage to convince mrs flattyland that the 420 SEAC we have found for sale is more important than two extra bedrooms and a laundry room!
Glad you managed to get back ok Paul, hope it's all ok. That's a real b*gger Streaky - hope to catch up next time (sure a post will be on re another meeting between now and BBWF). Sorry to hear of your news Chris.
Well - having just got back from a day wedging - it was an excellent turn out - 10 total with 8 going onto the pub.. via Marlow/Henley - thanks to the S-type that let us all out together in Marlow, being surrounded by the sound of 8 V8s bouncing off the walls through both towns was superb - certainly caused a stir in Henley High Street eh Gavin hope to have a few photies posted shortly.. Well done for sorting the route - shame about the tractor but certainly didn't detract from enjoying the route - good little venue at the Lemon Tree. Unfortunately on the way home my steering seems to have taken a turn - well at least it held off until the end - will have a better look in the morning, but for now
