Wouldn't bother on a stock 350 motor as the standard item flows enough air (flapper). When your getting into the >300hp region the bigger flapper (jag)air meter comes in handy and as far as my calcs go the standard item won't flow enough air to allow the engine to produce more than 320bhp.

Its not std. Its 4 ltre with stage 3 heads, MA ecu and vizard cam. Will I still be getting enough air with std air meter? Or would I be better getting flared trumpets/larger plenum next...?

Planie ole chap.
If fitted you'll still get the air the engine demands and an airflow signal to the ECU but it'll need checking for compatibility i.e. track resistance = airflow and thus a signal to ECU if the resistance = airflow equation is not the same the ECU will get the wrong value. I understand you can cut a resistor or something out of the meter and then they are compatible. If your stage 3 headed and up cammed 4.0l can generate >320 hp then doing the plenum and AFM tweaks will help - Tim 'ACT''s your man on this one.
