Typical, 1st decent bit of weather up in Scotland and the car (1986 280) develops a major problem....
Started off sounding like a mecanical clonking/banging noise from passenger side.
Put the car up on jacks and found that when put into gear only drivers side wheel is engaged and drives. Passenger wheel sort of moves a quarter turn occasionaly and is very jerky - and makes a fairly nasty noise at the sametime.
The prop shaft/passenger side drive shaft are Ok - I'm thinking it must be something to do with the diff?
Any suggestions as to:-
1. Whats wrong?
2. How much to get fixed?
3. Any recomended motor engineers North of the Border.
I need to get back out in the sunshine so any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Give Noel Flannery (V8 sports and classics) a call on 01620844800. He's based in a place called Drem near Haddington 10 miles outside Edinburgh. He's got my 350i just now for several major repairs, and is fairly cheap at £35/hour for labour. He can also collect your car for a nominal fee if its not driving.
