Can recommend the wheel specialists in Cwmbran. They did a cracking job on my AMG.

acid dip, damage repaired, powder coat & paint. Priced by size for what I recall but think I paid about £360 for 4x 19" turbines

Good luck.

Definitely recommend The Wheel Specialists in Cwmbran. They did all four wheels for my Aston Martin Vantage. Very nice people, helpful and friendly.

Do they do it while you wait Mark - or is that a crazy idea? (hate leaving her...)

No need for a loan set, the 15"ers with winters will be going on soon enough so there'll be a few months to get these sorted smile
(Although having had my first quote back for re-cutting the diamond bits, I'm thinking about just buying a whole new set...)

A bit further afield but if you want a top job then Flat Out Alloys in Cardiff. Have used them for several sets of wheels and they are second to none.

I got a set done by them and was really impressed. Not just the finish but the communication and customer service. They sent me videos showing progress and helped me out with an over torqued locking wheel nut that wasn't playing ball. Even gave me a tour of the facility when I was interested with all the staff being super friendly too.

Probably better off avoiding the place in Hirwaun [PPS - i think] - my neighbour recently had his wheels done there - take a look a the pic I took of them after he asked me for my opinion frown

They gave him £20 off coz of their mess - Duh!! they had a cheek to charge anything, they ought to have given them to him for free.
I'd planned to get the 7 wheels done there - now I'm gonna spray 'em myselfsmile
hope this helps

For balance I had a set of mini alloys done there, they still look great 5 years on

I had a quote with PPS a few years ago, it was very cheap, but when I asked about how the repairs to scuffs will be delt with, he said they don't really do any repairs, they will just rub them down and get them best they can before paint, I walked away with that comment.

Could be that what's in the pics is a combination of poor prep and poor application.

NL powder coating in Merthyr seem to do a good job as a close alternative, they post a lot of their own work on FB regularly and I can't recall seeing any negative comments either. They are properly stripped and repaired before powder goes on. If I take the plunge, I will be giving NL a go as they are also quite reasonable.

there's a well known saying in the trade ' you're only as good as your last job' - what they did 5 years ago has no relevance IMO

If there's a place in Merthyr then I would try themthumbup

Indeed, and the way they deal with a cock up. No issue with things going wrong from time to time, that's life, I do take issue with how a problem is dealt with though, that tells me a lot about their care of the customer, business, product, reputation etc.

They should have taken those wheels back, apologised and put them right, or, possibly checked the quality of their own work and fixed it before the customer had them back.
