Somewhere nice to eat near (ish) pontypridd!

Hi guys, been a while since I've been in this neck of the woods (both forums and in South Wales!

Going up Monday and friend asks for somewhere nice to eat with a decent view. Don't in travelling a little but not too far from the university of Glamorgan, as we are visiting there to see some friends and it'll be around lunch time. Ideally somewhere within a 20 min drive and preferably further north, if anything, as we'll be heading up to Brecon Beacons after. Only place I can remember was, I think, the Heritage Park Hotel near Trehafod.

If you are heading to Brecon after then the Nant Ddu Lodge just north of Merthyr does good food and is in the national park

went here recently and was very impressed, cant comment on the views though as it was at night.

I had a very nice meal at "A Bunch of Grapes" in Pontypridd a year ago.

+1 for A Bunch Of Grapes, been there a long time (remember going as a kid must be 15 to 20 years back) and not been for years but was still good!

Only once eaten at Alfreds in Ponty but again thoroughly enjoyed it!
