I need a one off part machined and hoping to find someone local that could help.
Its basically a cylinder of steel 70mm in diameter and 60mm long that needs to be bolted onto a crankshaft in order to extend it.
Around the outside, 8 holes would need to be drilled to match the flywheel bolt pattern, and internally a shaft needs to be be drilled through and internal splines machined into it to allow direct drive to a propellor shaft which is already splined.
I have the propellor shaft with the splines, and flywheel to match up the offset bolt pattern etc.
Also need a recommendation as to which steel to use. I have been advised something like en25T and then have the teeth of the new splines nitrided once the part has been machined?
The part will be constantly transferring drive from the driveshaft directly/unclutched to the propellor shaft for speeds upto 7000 rpm and 450 nm of torque. The propellor shaft is already designed to do such no problem.

The classic material for racing crankshafts in EN30b. Can’t get much better than this with off the shelf material.

You could approach one of the racing gearbox manufactures; they make stuff like this all day long.

A guy i know owns Printing Components Ltd on Hirwaun industrial estate. He's got all the machines you could need to help get what you want if you haven't already found one.

No, still not sorted it out Ryan so thanks for the company name, was sort of hoping a retired machinist with a lathe on here might have been up for the challenge.
There is a good you tube video I found that shows how to do the internal splines, which is the bit that has put a couple of companies off, I think they just did not want to take on such a small fiddly job.

I think the internal splines could probably be made with a broach, if they're to a standard size.
U basicaly pull this through a nominal sized bore in the bit you want the splines in.
