Gearbox repair recommendation

Hi all,

Last couple of days i have had an issue with the gearbox, 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th and reverse are fine but 3rd suddenly sounds like a noisy box of spanners. When in other gears i can hear a slight rattle/cog sound but the issue is clearly with 3rd.

The car is a 2006 Impreza WRX, any recommendations please?

I would think that even if he couldn't do the work himself, he would probably know someone who can. He has an Impreza that he races.

Manual gearbox repairs are down that way, seem to be well regarded.
Repaired a gearbox for me a few months ago.
