I’m struggling with this one!

I need to find a local (Newport-Swansea corridor) car audio specialist who are also a Helix dealer. Trying to find if this works with the Saab’s fibre optic system before I tear it to bits.

https://www.audiotec-fischer.de/en/helix/accessori...

I’ve emailed them and they put me in touch with the GB supplier but the only Helix dealers I can find are miles & miles away in England. Need to get the car to them so they can check the fibre optic system out and what settings to use with the sdmi25 or even if it will work with it.

fking nightmare these Saab’s to upgrade the audio side!!!

Your probably pissing in the wind with this.
When I had my 9-3 I just resorted to a pure dab/bluetooth adapter to connect to the existing stereo, I quickly gave up on the idea of upgrades when I read how much of a ball ache it was.

Yeah it’s a lot of work, I fitted a single din to the last one and just bypassed the fibre optic system. Wanted to avoid it this time though.

So far I’ve just added an Alexa Auto, hardwired in and connected to the AUX. Working pretty good but your limited to CD quality over Bluetooth.

If the Helix box does work, looks like they need to test the cars system and figure out what jumper setting the box needs to communicate with it, I can add a DSP to this. If not I’ll just go single din again, just never looks good as there’s no fascia kits for these, need to fab one.

Another option is just add a nice DSP to it but you need to tap into the amps speaker outputs. Not keen on cutting wires though especially on these cars, so bloody finicky!
