Dont think so and it was ing cold last time.

Could do a pre Christmas meet if anyone is interested then leave it until the weather gets a bit warmer?

I think the problem is that we met at night and a bit late. If we could meet perhaps earlier in the day on a weekend, we might get more people.

So what have you got against Griff's......???

Trouble with weekends is family committments....which will probably balance out attendance ???

Having said that, 5 year old son would love to come along and see Daddy's friends with nice cars....

So, suggestions......????

Sunday the 29th sounds OK to me. Llandow is a good venue for the cars, but are there any "refreshments" up there ? And is there any cover for the "wimpy wives"?

The only problem with Griffs is that I've got one !! and it's spent the best part of the last 12 months in and out of Roath Garage being fixed. When i say "in and out" , what i actually mean is "in" , and it still is !!!!

from what i remember there is a cafe type thing there to provide cover if its wet, and food if you fancy it.

theres also a few pubs dotted around locally.

theres a fair bit of parking there, but im understood there is some sort of local event which llandow have allowed locals to use the parking for :s

sure we will find out on the day. you're all welcome to come along and watch the track too.

EDIT: 6 Spaces up for grabs if anyone wants to take part. See here www.wpce.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=780&st=0

Cheers, Ben

its a full day on track for £75 in advance or £85 if you pay on the day.

the format is open pitlane - eg you queue up and go on and off as you wish.
limited places to keep the numbers on track down (eg less busy)

anyones welcome, tho obviously id like advance warning if you want a place.

basically if anyone wants a place can you please email me on corrado.vr6@ntlworld.com

I was at the track day but not on the track - still Atomless!!

I noticed a Caterham with a chrome bonnet flying around the track at some rate - did a few spins too!

Does anyone know the spec of this car?

Hi John

So there's another Atom in the area then.....??? When I saw the pics I assumed it must be yours!

Re. The Caterham, that is the Wonkycustard car. Awesome bit of kit/project. Dave (Wonkey) may be along soon, but on his behalf this is the spec. that he posted elsewhere:

Its one of the 3 most powerfull K series in the UK @ 245bhp , being all steel internals it revs quite happily to over 8700 rpm but max power is made at just 7980 rpm on this cam profile - which is ideal for hillclimbing and sprinting.

It will easily go from standing start at the roundabout at Kwick Save in Risca to 8000rpm in 6th gear before the end of the layby by Morrisons - that would be about 143 mph heheheheheehe - if I were to ever attempt it of course ........

full spec =
All new parts –
New machined and modified block – modified oil ways and improved seal location.
1900 cc inserted liner conversion, honed to Hellier specification.
Modified “turbo”oil pump
Modified water pump
Modified oil gallery feed
Caterham dry sump pan with modified baffle plate
Hellier alloy crank pulley
Titan R500 Flywheel
R500 AP clutch
3 ring forged pistons machined to Hellier specification, rings to Hellier specification .
Carrillo Steel rods
Steel Crank to Hellier specification
Mike Satur head gasket
Steel Hellier dowels modified to suit oil feed diameter
MS2 head ported by Hellier
“bigger” bespoke inlet valves produced to Hellier Specification
“bigger” exhaust valves to Hellier Specification
New inserted valve seats , 3 angle cut
Piper double valve springs
Piper titanium caps
Hellier design extra long valve guides
Hellier design valve stem seals
Hellier Specification inlet and exhaust cams
Jenvey 42mm modified and mated to head, direct to head throttle bodies
Peco injectors
Modified Bernard Scouse Air Box with KN filter and cold air feed .
Siemens coil pack
Magnecore ignition leads
NGK plugs
SLR 4-2-1 manifold - modified
Self made Exhaust silencer
Titan dry sump pump
Wet sump bell housing
Self designed dry sump oil tank in bulkhead
Hellier design header tank
Engine internals fully ballanced by Hellier

I'd be surprised (knowing Dave) if he hasn't added to that too, after all this is quoted from a month ago!!!

There is now! Collected my Atom from Somerset yesterday afternoon and had a brill drive back to Bridgend. I think with the exception of snow, I experienced all the weather. Now I have to get used to it and of course it's raining today!

Anyway, you're right about the Atom at Llandow it was from Cheltenham, Chris the owner is building up speed and gaining experience.

The Caterham was certainly one to be noticed. I'm guessing the driver is track experienced too.

Cheers

John
