Not really been into the 7 "lifestyle" club thing. Love my car to bits though, had a quick run round barry today. Bloody cold, aero screen and no doors. Done a couple of track days up llandow which were great fun, but the socket set image which goes with (some) 7 owners aint me!

You guys with elise's who don't need the practicality (second cars?) would seriously recomend a test drive in a 7.

Cheers Jon

How did you adjust to the change from a westy back to a "normal" car? Been through a few "toys" even tried the sports bike thing, but the 7 is the first car I have not got bored with (yet?) or been mildly disappointed with after the initial novelty. Wish I'd bought one years ago.

Well I know what you mean....it never failed to give "sense of occassion" feeling whenever you tightened those harness straps and started it up!! But then I'm pleased to say that starting the Tiv does a pretty good job too!!

Main reason I sold the Westy was that it really wasn't getting enough use so moved to something marginally more practical. I always wanted a "7" and can see me getting another one sometime, but it will probably have to wait until the family has grown up a bit!!!

playing devils advocate here but.....

Toe-rag perfect for load/family lugging, 3 all round perfect car. You have all the practicality you need?

Bin the Chim, buy a 7. Not gonna cost you anything either, should get decent money for the trevor and you'll get all the 7 you ever need for £15k.

Who wants passengers in a 7, just s up your power to weight!!!

Well I wouldn't argue with your thinking.....its just that it frustrates me (more than anyone else)that the toy doesn't get more of an airing...at least with the Chim I can use it to commute when the weather is only "ok" rather than with the Westy when it had to be "guaranteed dry"...!!!

I know, next line is get yourself some biking clothes......

As I said, the Chim is a nice beast and another one ticked off my list of "wants". But I'll be honest I'm thinking next move will be to get something more "interesting" than the BMW for my everyday vehicle, as that's where I spend most of my time.....but its gonna have to have 4 seats so its not an easy one to answer.

In the meantime, I still love 7's and expect to be back in one at some point!!

I know what your saying, the 7 is dangerous in anything but dry conditions. Funny how we all have "that" list of stuff to get out of our systems, admit to having a big soft spot for a Tuscan/Cerb, it's gonna happen one day!

Your 3 looks like a spanker surely not due to change for a while? Just ordered an IS250, I know the 3 is the better car but fancied something different. Comes back to that cross 'em off your list thing again I guess?

I would go back to a 7 in a heartbeat, I loved mine and new every nut and bolt when I get some spare cash (if you ever do with three kids) I will buy or build again. Still like to take a look at your motor Jon.
