Drove past one on the A449 on Thursday: it wasn't very far out of Cardiff, parked in a layby on the southbound side. I was going north.
Trouble is, it didn't have cameras out of the back doors, there seemed to be a black or tinted dome on the roof.
Would I be correct in thinking this can cover both carriageways? I'm a bit annoyed with myself 'cos I spotted it from half a mile (at 90+), backed off but then figured it was covering the opposite c/way so didn't back off that far. When I spotted the dome I was doing about 80. Not a problem, you might think, except I was in the van: technically restricted to 60 on that road... which is how the Cumbria bastards got me a couple of years back.

I agree,I have seen two of these on my travels recently ,though on both occasions the dome/turret was facing the back.Looking at the second one closely,It looks like the stuff uptop does the vehicle reg database thing as it seems the same set up as a couple that have been on bridges over the m4 .Cant be sure but it would make sense
