for this event, you're going to need the following prep-wise...
Fit new brake discs and the hardest pads you can find.
Change the brake fluid.
Get a spare set of wheels and fit some tyres to them.
Marham is an unlimited-time event, you'll be kicking yourself if you run out of tyres and/or brakes and need to go home early.
Fuel - I use about 150 litres per day at the event.
Other than that, make sure that the car ( whatever it is ) is reliable - enough that you'd willingly drive it to the South of France.
Regarding tools, your original question, I'd say bring enough to change the wheels & tyres and change your brake pads back again at the end of the day. By the time that you've got all of the above in the car, there'll be little space left for anything else. If you need anything else larger, there will be someone there able to lend it to you.
Not sure I agree fully... that a track day noob should really need to put new discs, pads, spare wheels and tyres etc.... serious investment for a new starter. Fit new brake discs and the hardest pads you can find.

Assuming he's piloting what's in his garage (Clio 182?) I'd certainly agree to saying checking all fluids are in good order, that tyres have decent tread (the front's will take a battering, but the rears on a 182 will last well and can swap front to rear), and of course assuming the discs and pads are in decent condition.

Im glad you say that! I'll not be doing anything other than giving the car a quick check over!
Don't forget in the afternoon the circuit is reversedMorning
Heaviest braking area is up hill at the end of the main runway 140 mph in my car but it's a lift a gentle kink right folowed by braking down to a 90 deg right from maybe 90 mph with an escape road straight on if you run out of brakes
Afternoon
Down hill at the end of the main runway aproaching a 90 deg right at 140 plus I'd rather have some confidence in my brakes (I'm sure there is an escape route avaliable but it's far left from the apex)
Better to offer advice of caution I reckon and that's where I believe Stuart is coming from

Perfect - I'll PM you and if ok will drop them over after the Saturday fun.
many thanks
Paul
Im afraid Ill only be at work in Attleborough until Friday, on Saturday I think Im a bit too far away from you to make it worthwhile. Hopefully RTV can help you sort something if you cant get one dropped off on Friday, that sounds easiest.many thanks
Paul
Regarding brakes, must admit as a trackday newcomer I just relied on having some fresh OE pads fitted to recently skimmed discs on my first go (and that was only because the car desperately needed it for road use). They were still in place a year later when I did another one at Woodbridge, though I do recall after that occasion the brakes did feel a bit soft.
Having only done 2000-odd miles since new pads were fitted in the car Im bringing this time I should be OK, but I wont be needing to slow down from anywhere near 140mph! Im probably somewhat less aggressive with braking than some, but I think Ill bring some fluid plus a spare set with me just in case...

lap after lap from 140 to 20 - you're not going to do that on standard pads.
Personally I will probably be relying on my tried and test combo of 40 year old 7.5inch discs teamed with EBC Blacksuff pads The old Mini only weighs 580kg with driver so it doesn't take a lot of stopping And tho I admit the top speed may be somewhat less than 140mph I'll be aiming to maintain it for as much of the circuit as possible, and maybe get a little more air under the nearside rear wheel tooThere was some umming and ahhing over what pads to use but due to the weight we decided to chance some std ones because it's light. So far even at Marham it's been fine and it's better on the road than it was with the old race pads in it. They were a little unless caning it for some distance! Only difference is this time the jettings been sorted so hopefully speeds will be up (it used to lean out at higher revs)
I'm sure I'll still be the slowest thing on track tho
At the moment I'm just crossing my fingers that the radiator can be repaired as it's a one off. Could thow a spanner in the works if it's totalled

My Monza is down to around 1250 kgs now - new redstuffs to be fitted ready for the event
Not bad for a car that size. My RX7 is at about 1200kgs with the aircon, airpump and rear interior gone.Hole saw next
