I Agree a great run, Thanks Darren and Mark, In the morning being near the back making a bit of noise in places made a great day, With Justyn adding the tune to my Wedge it did make a few look up but I have to say if I was not in the wedge and saw this in the rear view mirror I would just get out of the way! Great day out, sorry I headed home instead of the afternoon leg but saw Darrens rs4 shoot off and thought sod that! First time on a ph run and first time giving my car that sort of hell, must have been a good Italian tune up because half way through my mpg went back up! Look forward to the next run, hope to speak to a few more of you next time!

An enjoyable run. It's been a while since I've driven anywhere for the sake of driving. Cracking mix of cars, from bathtubs with wheels and engines (bet you're glad it didn't rain!) to plush coupes. I quite liked parking up at high lodge, shame we didn't get a chance to linger there a little longer (£3.80 parking!) It gave me an opportunity to pretend I was on a forest rally stage... albeit at a sedate 15mph.
Trip out of Norwich was great. I know those roads reasonably well, which meant being sandwiched between a bright orange TVR and a Porsche up the Reepham road wasn't quite as intimidating as it could have been. We dropped off the back of the convoy quite a few times thanks to traffic lights and busy junctions. Hope my old-miss-daisy driving in my funny lil grey Japanese wagon wasn't too much of a rolling roadblock for some of the monsters behind me :|
It was pot-luck finding the group out of high lodge as people went in every direction from the Thetford roundabout! Just about caught on to the back of it. Highlights of the afternoon section where being waved at angrily by half of Suffolk and seeing a chap transporting timber in his 911.

Really enjoyed it. Great run from Cambridge in the morning, and going well in the afternnon when I picked up three Japanese sloths after a cross-road about half an hour into the afternoon run and just couldn't get by. Saw a sign for the A14 soon after, so dropped out and headed for home. must find out how to upload ITN files onto my Garmin. The Jaguar Satnav does allow I think.

- With more cars attending, High Lodge doesn't work as a lunch stop. We get too spread out and nobody knows what is going on and as a consequence I think the first group leaving had about 20 cars!! I think this was why so many people got lost in that group. Sorry
- The afternoon route needs some improvement. Too many junctions and 30 zones.
- The cakes at the Animal Health Trust are very nice
- Delta Integrales look very cool in your rear view mirror
- I love my car

High Lodge was a good venue, despite the parking charges and the overcrowding that particular day. I have never seen it that busy before. Loos and food were definitely necessary (even the hot food was quite edible, and those with the roof down needed a warm up), and the roads leading up to High Lodge on the Cambridge run were excellent, with lots of fast flowing country roads and not too many 30s.
Animal Health Trust as a finishing point was also good - the site manager was positively welcoming thanks to Mark's good legwork before the event. Again, the facilities were handy.
I agree with Mark's comments about the afternoon run - there were too many 30 limits, probably because Suffolk CC has been putting new limits in everywhere. There was as well a bit of an issue with Sunday afternoon drivers, which wouldn't have been as critical if we had all had satnav files, or the roads had been straighter. Also it was all too easy to lose one's crocodile with all the turns, particularly off busy main roads.
It might not be a bad idea to distribute the TomTom files to all runners, or at least have three of four in each crocodile with the directions. While it is fun running in convoy, it would mean that those at the front could take their eyes off the rear view mirror, safe in the knowledge that someone behind would at least know where we had disappeared to. We had to stop a fair few times until we changed the running order, as the LHD Mustang did have a lot of problems getting past Sunday drivers on the twisty stuff, and my TVR has a speed limiter which stops it going below 50 on de-restricted roads.
Only a suggestion, but perhaps next year investigate the roads to the north of Thetford, perhaps ending up somewhere like Bressingham Steam Museum, or somewhere with facilities on the A11 if there is such a place?
