The Mitsubishi Lancer Register hold a 30-130 event at RAF Marham (Norfolk) and there is also and opportunity to go for a top speed run (the record is 218mph on the 1.5 mile runway). They allow other clubs to run on an invite basis so have a chat with the MLR boys and see what they say.
Failing that a trip to Germany might be an option.

Are you sure about that 218 Mark? Must be huge power if so, evos are not exactly aerodynamic. A 1000bhp koenigsegg can't make those numbers at vmax which is a 2mile straight.Failing that a trip to Germany might be an option.

Thanks for the replies, will look into RAF Marham.
Not sure if the limiter is still in place on mine, the previous owner did change a few things including allowing DVDs on the move so who knows. without the limiter top speed is meant to be 186Mph.
Even with 155Mph it should still be fun

It was a Severn Valley Motorsport R35 GTR with about 1200bhp

If one was to do an impression of an elephant race whilst overtaking one of the many lorries that use this road (1 mph speed differential overtake) about 2 miles before this section one would probably be reasonably confident that all cars ahead would be far enough ahead to allow open and unrestricted usage of the section mentioned - this would also give one chance to carefully check the cars behind waiting for the elephant race to end.
Not saying anything other than that......
Well apart from "someone" I know got it slightly wrong once and didn't bank on an old giffer in a cavalier with hats and tissues on the parcel shelf bimbling along at 50 mph at the point where terminal velocity was reached.
The wash from a large vehicle traveling at near max leptons may have caused the old giffer to use both lanes of the dual carriageway (lane 1 to Lane 2 and then back to lane 1 and probably a bit of the small hard shoulder before back to lane 2) to keep the car pointing in the right direction.
That same "someone" felt very guilty - but not enough to stop and apologise.....
Oh and the bend under the A14 and the end of the straight if you aren't back to a sensible speed it's not nice.... Brake early and hard.

That section of the A11 is indeed good but I have seen a police car on more than one occasion sitting on the bridge just as the road curves to the left.
