Right, home and just a tad 'old' feeling
First to all the Track Day organisers and helpers, you were bloody marvellous all round, all day
Fabulous day on track thanks
And you who drove more of the same
Bloody marvellous, great track manners and some wonderful cars
Just the reason I always like Marham's amazing track day events
Can't be back tomorrow, although it was clear I could have
Have a great time tomorrow
the small dark green rolling road block driver says THANKS GIRLS AND GUYS for an epic day out

Brilliant day! Great combination of cars, people, weather, interesting track layouts and the ever-efficient and friendly track day team.
My Lexus did 156 track miles and I thought acquitted itself pretty well. Exhaust is now somewhat noisier but otherwise all well, even made it home on the same tyres it ran on all day.
I was determined to be one of the cars still on track at the very end of the day, I ended up being the very last car to come in :-)
Edit: It'll be interesting to see what the verdict is on track layout. I preferred clockwise....

I too preferred clockwise - certainly for my TVR it just flowed better having the corners getting faster as the lap progressed.
I am now looking forward to that version tomorrow morning, which should finish off my second set of tyrtes.
Special thanks to the afternoon passengers for sharing the hilarity of my front tyres getting "Marhammed' - absolutely no grip left before I changed them over, cornering was more a matter of hanging on until it eventually turned, or bringing the tail round with use of right foot. Can't have been an easy passenger ride, not having a clue if we were going to make any corner with the tyres squealing all the way round.
For me the pick of the day was managing to stay on the tail of Stewart in the Holden for several laps. We were well on it, and my passenger seemed to like my efforts in the late braking department. Thanks for trusting me, mate. That Holden rear end looked awfully large and solid from where I was sitting.

ou too mate. Hope you managed to get a go out in the green 214.

Yeah, had a blast in the rover aswell! The rover was slightly quicker on the straight than the civic (105 vs 100 lol)Paul
Had a ride in the blac Evo opposite us (one with the help for heroes roof), that was an epic motor!
The Frog and I had a wonderful time and I only finished around 2:30 because I was getting very low on fuel. My 27.3 litre (6 gallon) fuel tank took 27 litres when I filled p again. So I was cutting it a bit fine!
My thanks to all those who's significant organisational skills (and time given free of charge) translated into a magnificent day. It was very exciting and really chilled at the same time. I echo Perdu's sentiments in saying, thanks for avoiding my little red mobile chicane.
I had the roof down the whole time from leaving home on Friday night, to getting back home to London on Saturday early evening.
In terms of track layout I preferred the anti clockwise circuit as it was far more challenging. I was just beginning to get my eye in and find a good line, when you went and swapped it all around!
My personal preference would be for an additional ten chicanes down the straight

Gary, that frog looked great, love the look. And it did seem pretty punchy to me and had a fair turn in the twisties.
I think the layout now avoids the road blocking of the past as you 'have' to slow anyhow, but slow in fast out suited me. I loved the morning layout, the afternoon took some getting used to but I just kept on going finishing around 4pm yesterday.
Did you have a camera onboard? If so any film being aired at anytime?

Really enjoyed the day. Very fast circuit, and so wide in places that I'm not entirely sure I ever found a correct line.
I didn't ever think I'd be touching the speed limiter (it's relatively high for the car, so I never have bothered adjusting it).
Good courteous driving, fantastic atmosphere and enough room for cars ranging from ones that where reportedly purchased for a double digit sum up to something with a prancing horse on the back. Marshalls/staff all very helpful and friendly.... and doughnuts.
Glad I got my car back to a point of being able to drive the afternoon too.

I got half a lap or so of video footage of you, when you passed me in my Lexus in the afternoon session. What was your limiter set at? The straight was the only place I seemed to get anywhere near catching up with you.I didn't ever think I'd be touching the speed limiter (it's relatively high for the car, so I never have bothered adjusting it).
A handful of photos from Saturday:

My toy.
140+ MPH by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr
Only paid £500 for it, good value for money when it can do this I reckon.

I love the anticipation at this point of the day. Straight somewhat narrower than the runway we've previously used, but still generous....
1991 Vauxhall Lotus Carlton by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr
At one point I was doing my best on the straight when this, the Mercedes E55 and the Holden were all in front of me going rather faster.
Mitsubishi Mirage Cyborg R and Evo by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr
Rover 214 Si by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr
This was cheaper than my car! It went well too.

Guess which car this came off.....

Fecking hell Rob mentioned he'd cracked a wheel - I was thinking alloy not steel!!!Another reason why it's not a good idea to follow a red Nova.......
I followed him for a few laps today and it was fine as long as there was at least 100 yrds between us - then the smoke from the rear tyre(s) wasn't a problem
Yes it's FWD but is definitely steers from the rear
I can't even begin to explain how glad we are that everyone enjoyed themselves this weekend, and took something away from it, be they seasoned 'track dayers' or relative novices!
A huge thank you to all those who attended and supported us whilst helping good causes for charity.... and for the passenger rides too! Everyone behaved impeccably, some got lost IN THE PITS (Supra) and the marshals did a sterling job keeping the track open! Now all we have to do is prise Buncy out of the golf gti safety car!!!
A few cones to tidy away....
Many thanks to all!
Track Day Team.

Not awfully keen on all that rust in the cones for the wheel nuts either
But the car, well all the other cars too as well
That car was rather nice
