PHEA Roadshow: Lavenham Rare Breeds - BH Monday 31st August
Discussion
Hi All.
I apologise if I'm poking my nose in but as this is my "local " show I entered this as an independent back in March.
The letter I have asks for owners to "please be at the ground between 9.30 and 11.30 to ensure arrival before the carnival procession."
Those invited to be in the procession should be at the market square at 11.00 My mate has a Jeep so fits in with the 40's theme and
I believe the procession plans to arrive at the show ground before 12 noon, so he said.
Weather permitting I intend to arrive 10.45 - 11 ish and as I have an open top I'm just praying for a dry afternoon.
I'll wander along for a chat later.

Not at all, Paul; thank you! I appreciate the clarification
Please forgive my incorrect information on having to be in by 10am. It would appear they are timings I've used often for the show, and so have become ingrained to the point of being fact
Considering it is such a short time, I shall stick to the timings this year, but certainly something I will consider for next year
See you all tomorrow

Darren, if it's hosing it down don't count on me in the morning, I'm not driving 90 minutes to stand about in the rain. Feel free to give my place up if there's a request for it.
However if it's dry, then I'll see you at 9.30 (in a dirty car, as its p1553d it down every time I've tried to scrub it

Fear not Simpo, I certainly wasn't on my own!
I am very thankful for those of you who joined me on such a wet day.
If you couldn't make it, please don't worry - I knew the rain would put off many, so I was pleasantly surprised to have 6 cars making up the PHEA Stand
Such a shame for the show organisers, having heavy rain 2 years in a row.
The rain on the way down to Lavenham actually gave way to a dry spell when we set up the Stand (and more importantly the gazebo!).
The heavens then opened with abandon and the wind whipped up a little!
Despite this appalling weather meaning there wasn't the usual quantity (the organisers informed me there was still around 200 cars!), the quality at the show remained high.
I thoroughly enjoyed the day chatting with you all, wandering around the cars and spending some time in the entertainment tent.
I snapped a few photos. Once uploaded, I'll post up a link.
Once again, thank you to all who made it! Let's hope for better weather next time
See you all again soon.

Well done you old stalwart! Medals for all who made it I think.
Anyone remember the thunderstorm at Rougham when the rain came sideways in a spray through the mesh sides of the gazebo? It was a bit like being in a carwash...
Well I do wonder what people thought of us at Lavenham sitting under a Gazebo but also having to have the brolly's up !!Anyone remember the thunderstorm at Rougham when the rain came sideways in a spray through the mesh sides of the gazebo? It was a bit like being in a carwash...
Thanks for sorting the day Darren.
Was an interesting day.
I'm amazed of all the cars apparently due, I managed to make it in a clapped out old MG. for shame.... For shame
Although on the way home the wipers packed up resulting in an AA call, I was not going to drive 30 miles in the rain on country roads in a classic. That's just suicidal
