My brother Simon (a casual user and seller on pistonheads) has confirmed he is coming in his mid 1980s hillclimb 911.

A question - I have two people at work that say they will come, but I reckon they are both 50/50 because neither is organised, shall I add them to the list or can they just turn up ?

cheers
Roger

They won't be able to just turn up, Roger. It's an operational air base so security is pretty tight!

Ok, had an e-mail from MG Mark yesterday. For those who are going to this great weekend, some more details are required from you, so you can get onto the base without being turned away!

Please mail either myself or MG Mark with the following info:

Full name:
Date of birth:
Place of birth:
Full Home Address:
Vehicle make and model:
Vehicle registration:
Colour of vehicle:
Either Saturday or Sunday: (I think most are planning on the Sunday)

Same goes for any passenger/extra driver/support vehicle.

Don't forget almost all the money raised over the weekend will go to worthy charities and not lining the pockets of an organiser!! Those involved in putting this together are ALL (unpaid) volunteers

The cost is probably about 1/3rd what you would pay elsewhere, so even if you are not 100% sure about turning up, it will still be worth while sending in your details.

Cheers All

Gary

edited to add car registration and home address!!!!

Gaz,

A mate of mine picks up his Elise today and is very interested in doing this day but cannot confirm yet due to work. Am I able to give you his details etc but leave his place open as a possible?
Same goes for my girlfriend who may/may not be joining me as passenger.

Gary - Thank you for starting the ball rolling. Latest on prices and sessions (I think there was a transposition error in one of the earlier posts) is that I am aiming for £30 or £40 for the Saturday depending on the session numbers/length and £60 for the Sunday (where we can run for longer with more sessions). This works out at £10 a session, with each session lasting for 20-30 minutes.

In terms of confirming attendance, those indicating attendance as a definite will have a guaranteed place. For those indicating as "possible", they will be on the list; however, as a "possible", if the number of definite bookings from PH and elsewhere swells to the point over the coming weeks that I reach the limit on numbers, "possibles" will be placed on a reserve list - if you don't want to miss out, please confirm definite attendance as soon as you can. If you are unsure of which vehicle you are going to bring on the day, at least put one down - vehicle details can be changed almost right up to the point at which you gain entry to the Station. What I can't change close to the time is the people - I do need the personal details far enough in advance to ensure that you are allowed smooth, unhindered entry onto the Station without delay. If you try and just pitch up on the day, the chaps on the gate will not permit entry. Sorry if that sounds a bit job's worth, but it really is the only way I can run it on an active RAF station and keep everybody here sweet. So please let Gary and me have confirmation and the full details as soon as you can.

I will be sending out further event details soon - at the end of this month/beginning of next. One top tip is to get your payment for the event in before you come - that way you will make your arrival considerably easier and you can concentrate on getting your car and yourself ready for the first session rather than waiting in a queue as the first session sets off! All the best for now,

MG Mark

It also makes you less likely to drink too much the night before and call it off, or to be inveigled into tedious family duties!

Please could you advise me of your or MG Marks e-mail address. In this current day and age, I am reluctant to put person information on the web.
Many thanks.

If you click on the name at the left hand side of the thread a couple of posts or so above, a window comes up which includes the e-mail option and includes my e-mail address - it's not a public posting, so click on that, type the message and send.

BY THE WAY ALL, i HAVE JUST NOTICED AN OMISSION FROM THE INFORMATION DETAILS I NEED - I DO ALSO NEED YOUR UK ADDRESS AND THAT OF ANYONE ELSE IN YOUR PARTY PLEASE.

'Mailing via profile' is no good for attachments though.

It'll be my first track day too so I'm planning to be very sensible, especially as I'll be sans insurance (I'm only covered for official TVRCC track-days) .

Mine too - I'll also be in a Chim so at least i won't be alone. Hoping to cadge a few experienced peeps for some instruction though.
My girlfriend may also be coming along. She's never driven my car before so hoping for a couple of quiet sessions towards the end of the day for her to have a go.

That's a good premium. when taking out cover, it is worth ensuring that there is no timing of cars and that it is a completely non-competitive event. Also worht ensuring that passengers are covered if you are planning to take anyone round with you.

Third party liability for damage to MOD property and injury to others (for example event organisers) caused by event activities is covered by the event insirance that I have arranged (up to £10m liability for single incident). What the event insirance does not cover is damage that you may cause to your car and other cars.

Sorry - finger trouble - the forst sentence of the last post should read:

Mark,

I note I'm down on the list as a poss. I've mailed all my details etc to Gaz, could you confirm I am actually registered as a definite for the Sunday?

Cheers
Tony

Hi Zippee, I have you down as a definite! I will be mailing details of all those who sent them to me, over to MG Mark later.

BTW, any one else coming?

Gary
