Folks,

As you may know already, there will be a photo CD and a video DVD available of the Marham Track Day weekend. The Stn photographers were certainly busy and are currently working their way through all the stills and footage that they took. However, as they were taking video from the track side, they do not have any in-car footage of the track - I know that one or two of you were running with video cameras mounted inside the car. If any of you have any suitable in-car footage that you would like to share by having it included on the video DVD, would you please contact me?

The Photo CD will be £5 and the Video DVD £10, or £15 for both (all for the charities) each will have photos/video as appropriate from both days of the weekend, and the compilers are aiming to make sure there is reasonable coverage of everyone who was there. If you did not order/pay on the day, please drop me a note with what you would like and a cheque made payable to "Service Funds RAF Marham" to:

PA to OC Admin Wing
RAF Marham
Kings Lynn
Norfolk PE33 9NP

They should be ready to send out in about two to three weeks. Thanks,

MG Mark

I have some in car footage from mine, but, I'll need to edit the odd bit out to make it 'suitable'

i.e. Removing the footage of my crap lines and bad language

I'll try to get it done & uploaded somewhere for you to download this week...

Many thanks - it will go to providing some context to the externally shot clips if there is a lap of the track from inside a cockpit on it too.

I'd be grateful for one of each to.......

great day out on my first track day. Impressed that the Z could go quicker down the straights than the Elises.......... I kept pulling over to let them overtake but mainly they couldn't keep up after 110 mph (no problem for the TVRs though!!) Different story in the bends!

Thanks to everyone for the patience with the novices like me....

I got a cracked foglight but that has now been replaced by the stealer for £70 with me fitting it!

Mark,

ok I have made a suitable movie (the bit I look the least crap in!) of me doing a couple of laps of the track...

I'm trying to find a suitable (i.e. free!) place to host the file, but as it's about 80MB, it's proving a bit of a pain, though I think the current place I'm uploading to seems reasonable... so fingers crossed...

Otherwise, I'll cut you a CD and mail it to you...

The files are in .wmv format, as I don't have anything to convert them to Mpeg or Avi...

Cheers,
Peter

Peter - thank you very much - even with broadband, 80 mb takes a while to transfer! Probably the best bet is if you can send it on CD to me at: PA to OC Admin Wing, RAF Marham, Kings Lynn, Norfolk PE33 9NP. Wmv format will be fine. Look forward to seeing it and getting it onto the DVD with the external shots

Mark,

I've sent you a new link, and I've tested the file to make sure it's ok, unlike the last one.

There should be a few fotos on the site as well...

Peter,

Many thanks - to whet the appetite of all who have ordered the CD/DVD, Peter's video footage does show you what 180 mph down the runway looks like and it comes complete with V8 music that is most gorgeous to the ear......tvrs and the like, bow down and worship at the altar of sound

Rupert - thanks - we're nearly ready to go into mass production and distribute to those who have ordered, hopefully by late next week. The photo CD is pretty much ready, but the DVD takes rather more editing and production, so I'm waiting until that is ready so that I only have to do one mailshot. Peter's video footage is well worth including and I also have some more footage on the way from a friend who was driving the Mitsubishi FTO on the saturday (which sadly went sick halfway through the second session). The still photo quality is excellent, and I think we've managed to ensure that there at least a few of everyone on it.

Hi all - just to keep you up to date, I will be taking the final versions of the CD and DVD home with me this weekend to look over and give the final nod. Assuming that they are OK (and the earlier versions I saw were looking good), we should be ready to do a mass burn on Monday and get them into the mail around Tuesday of next week. All the best for now,

Mark

Hi Mark,

I've only just realised I forgot to hand my form in on the day (found it in my boot Saturday).
I noticed from a previous thread you only live in Huntingdon - would I be able to pay and collect in person or would you prefer me to send a chq to the base?
Looking forward to it anyway (just hoping me spinning my mates Elise hasn't made it on)

Hi - the photo CD is a fiver and the ones with video footage a tenner, !35 for both. Please forward a cheque to PA to OC Administratvie Wing, RAF Marham, King's Lynn, Norfolk PE33 9NP, made payable to "Service Funds RAF Marham.

For everyone else who has ordered them, apologies for the wait - bit of a faff with the amount of video footage available from the Stn photographers has meant gathering some other footage in. The end result is bags of still photos, and a total now of about 50 minutes of video footage, including in car from Peter's Noble and in car from one of my mates Mitsubishi FTO, along with what we could get from trackside. I got the finished articles late on Friday from the Photographic section, so they should be in the post to those who have ordered on Monday. All the best for now,

MG Mark

Peter's Noble

Make that an Ultima GTR, so a 'Noble relative'...

The sound track is slightly distorted due to the microphone's preamp clipping (with all the noise ;-)), so next time I'll try and get a better mic/preamp setup (or I'll sit in the garage and record a new one while watching the video)!
