My weekend was spent at Snetterton doing pitboy duties for my Son, Matt. I lost count of the number of calls to change wheels for wets/inters/slicks then back again and again ad'infinitum. Bl00dy hard work weeping

Still it brought rewards in the form of 2 x 3rd places, a 5th and a win. Well pleased for Matt.

Boy I would have loved to see that if it was original, thats a £million car today, John did you get any pic's?

Sorry no, I was too busy holding the gazebo down

Actually that's not quite true, Ian V and others did that while I sat there scoffing lunch

readit I should at this point confirm the award of Ian's PH Gallantry Medal for securing the gazebo with no thought of his own safety. All PHers who attended today win the PH Attendance Medal for bravery in the face of rain

Made it back, ta very much. Temp was a constant 70, or a bit below, all the way. I left the car to cool for an hour before putting away and fully expected to see a damp patch under the front... but, nothing there. Perhaps I didn't rinse your thermos out before topping up... so yes, coffee is the new Radweld. I'll check it in the morning and most probably take it to Scole. Hopefully maybe just a loose hose... (he says optimistically).

Some fellow car owners enjoying a fine summers day...

Well done P, so I didn't need to follow behind to offer sympathy and tutting in a layby!

Scole will probably suggest some Valvoline stuff that seals holes in radiators - magic - but the downside, in my car at least, is that it now runs about 5 degrees hotter. Obviously it's gunged up the waterways a bit. Looks like I'm soon going to be on radiator number 4 in 7 years rolleyes

Are there any radiator makers out there who want to give their product the ultimate test - two years in Simpo's Griff?

What a day !! Firstly a big thank you to all those who attended in what can only be discribed as 'not a fine summers day'. mad Your PH Attendance Medal's are well earned.

Thanks for the 'mention in dispatches' John, I was only doing my duty as PH second in command sir (but if a catch a cold there'll be trouble !!) shoot

A special thanks and medal must go to Andrew for supply of the gazebo, without this vital piece of equipment I,m sure that there would have been no survivers from yesterdays mission!

Paul, I think your photo of The Tiger Owners Club about sums up the day! Dispite all this both myself and my neighbour John enjoyed the day, although getting out along the very wet muddy and slippery 'road' was no fun at all. At several points I continued to be going forward dispite having the brakes on. One of the joys of having a 300hp auto I suppose! driving

ps : anybody know what happened to Richard in the Monaro ?

Just an update, no leakage over night, header take still half full of coffee, took it to Scole who could find no sign of leaking. They put the Valvoline in as a precaution (apparently some car manufacturers, like Nissan, put it in from new), and maintained a steady 70 degrees all the way home. They also replaced the faulty shocks so I am squeak free, yippee .

Now looking forward to a nice, warm, sunny summers day at Lavenham.... hopefully!

'twas a good day out.

I have a tip for future attendees... make sure you get your exhibitors ticket before hand, without it the ‘irritating jobs worth on the gate says no' and you have to park with the riff raff.

I did pop along to the PHEA area but everyone had buggered off!

The GT40 was awesome and spotless, I too assumed it was a kit car. I was v.impressed by the Ferrari 275 GTB. There was also a Countach and a Diablo, both of which my 3 year old managed to blag a sit down and a butchers of the engine! He has decided he would like both of them but in Yellow…

It is sad but I saw a 1980’s Lotus Esprit Turbo HC and went to being aged 8 all over again… if only they were reliable.

See you at Lavenham... or do I need a ticket for that one as well?!

Glad you got in Richard. I did begin to wonder if you had given up! I guess we were all on 'walkabout' somewhere when you got to the gazebo. We did spend a little time in there yesterday , but for the wrong reasons !!

With regard to Lavenham, have you booked a space with John? If the answer is yes, he has your pass, if the answer is no, I,m afraid that you won't get your car onto the stand as its been full for some time now.

Hi Richard - 'fraid Ian is right - Lavenham is fully booked and has been for some time. The 'last call' e-mail was sent out in June - this event books fast and when it's full it's full. However you're welcome to turn up as a visitor and come and say hello - if we haven't all buggered off!

Sorry for the delay replying Phil but the next chap in the 'reserves' list is on holiday until 24th. However he's very keen to go, so unless he suddenly changes his mind you can have the day off to do some gardening hehe

Also to Bacardi a Surveillance Medal for spotting a water leak from his radiator in all that rain! Well done that man laugh
