Vipers on the south Island?

Hope to have ours on the NZ roads in the next few months,are there any others out there?And whats the score on NOS?can you transport it to and from the drag strip?

Vipers here are VERY thin on the ground..... I think there'd be less than 10 in New Zealand... certainly an exclusive motor that'll draw the crowds wherever it goes!...... as for NOS, It's illegal to have the bottles connected in your car IIRC.... but having said that, many boyracers use it on the street and get away with it.... mind you, I guess you'd be a bigger candidate than just about anyone for getting pulled over by the police in a Viper..... but having said that, they're unlikely to notice NOS if the bottles/install are well-hidden.

as for strip use, I'm SURE it's in widespread use here on the strips (although I'm not in with that scene in NZ).... have a look at The New Zealand Drag-Racing Association Homepage or The Pegasus Bay Drag Club (They're the drag club down chch way... I'm assuming that's where you'll be near)... they should have info, links to the info, or contacts to GET all the info you need.

Im sure theres no problems using it on a drag strip. The one car that comes to mind is the Croydens Wholesalers GTR was using NOS to run mid 8s.

Only stipulation I can think of is its classed as a power added so you have to run with Turbos and Superchargers not in the NA class

Dam wish I took some pics. On Saturday at the track there was a very nice white late model viper with blue stripes over the length of the car going around the track, man it sounded good at full throttle. The power of those things are aweseome!!

Is there a company in NZ that converts Vipers to from LHD to RHD? And if so do they supply a conversion certificate that will get you thru a WOF?

After the frost and ice we had here in Christchuch this morning I can only imagine what it would be driving a mega bhp Viper around the frosted hills of Dunedin in the middle of winter

As for Vipers in the SI, I heard of one turning up at a Sunday Street Drags event at Ruapuna. I'll have a chat to my mate who told me about it.

Dont believe everything you see on TV.

Sure we do get frosts every day for a couple of weeks but theyre good enough that even at 6.30am I can ride down the hill on my motorbike.

When you see snow in dunedin on the news its away out the back of dunedin up in the hills and 90% of the population hasnt seen any of it

We are bringing another car that should be ok for frosty roads....a 42bhp Frogeye!(Nothing like having a chalk and cheese car)And before i forget.....JUST 5 WEEKS TO GO! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.So much to pack up and sort out.

Sunday night was cold but no snow

Monday morning, got up and there was about 3 inches of snow everywhere, didnt have to go anywhere so didnt. At 3pm I walked into town (about an hour) to start work at 4, I could have driven in but didnt think I would have been able to get home again. At 10pm I walked home again, saw several cars go down my hill at a 45° angle so glad I didnt drive.

At 4pm that day my dad went to the video store, got back ok but stopped on out driveway (which has a slope of about 5 degrees so its pretty close to flat) to open the garage door, when he got back in his MGF all it would do is spin the wheels and go sideways.

Today had a lecture at 8am, my lecturer seemed surprised that only 4 out of a class of 15 made it (I wasnt one of them). Finally went to uni around 1 and didnt have any trouble.

I dont understand everyones attraction to snow, its not any colder than usual, its just damn annoying

You poor little sods, can I just add that it never snows here in jaffa land and was 17deg c the other day and am dam happy about that

Big stirring jokes aside.. when I grew up in Timaru, I used to prey to the great snow gods to bring a good dumping each yr. This because I was on the school ski teams and a general ski addict. I was over joyed when the first snow fall came.
But that's all its good for am afraid its a dam hazard as the news describes

That's quite an achievement - last time I drove an MGF I couldn't get it to spin it's wheels or go sideways no matter how hard I tried!

I was in Auckland the day it was 17 (Last Friday). Heading from the airport onto the motorway theres a steep bank with flax sort of stuff growing on it, surrounded by this really pale sand. One of the guys I was with thought it was snow and we ripped him off about it for the rest of the day

Reason I was up there was a job interview and just found out I didnt get it. Anyone wanna give a new Finance graduate a job
