Hi Jamie, had a small scrap with a orange light and a car in front of me,(forgot about no abs to help me out) so having speed 12 headlight conversion fited (probably not one for the purists),Racinghart CR's 17's&18's with 5 stud hubs, ajustable suspension & big brakes.Leaving engine mods untill ive got to grips with the set up,but will keep original engine as is and build another one.I take it your not getting emails from the club? anymore either, whats happening there, has it fizzeled out?

STOP PRESS : My brother-in-law just phoned whilst travelling up the country (he was at Matamata I believe) - he's a truck driver - and he just spotted a dark coloured Tuscan on the road. He said it had no number plate on the front but had a conventional one on the back! Now either someone brought in a Tuscan before the rule changes or someone has managed to get that damaged Tuscan on the road somehow!

I may have to find the owner's phone number and see what the story is.

wow.... you reckon it'd be the same tussie or another one? In any case I'd like to see who it is and how they managed to sneak it in......and I wonder if he'd consider selling it

I showed him the pictures of the damaged can and he said it was definitely not that colour - much darker.

So, either the damaged car was resprayed a darker shade or someone has managed to get one on the road.

Of course, it's entirely possible the car was brought in and registered before the rule changes.

I sure do love the Chim with the headlight conversion.... I'm no big Chim fan, but yours could just about convert me :P

You'd think my brother-in-law would know the difference wouldn't you - he's driven my Chimaera not to mention having lived around it for years!

Oh well, no Tuscans on the road then.....

Update!!!!

I've seen this car a couple of times this week.
The best was when it was driving on the road.
It's all finished and looks mint! T440 nose looks great.
It's got the registration plates I TVR I (or maybe 1 TVR 1). Maybe he has found a loophole after all. Next time I'll try and track him down and have a chat. Might be a bit hard keeping up on my MTB though!

Very interesting. Finding out on what basis the car has been registered on could be very useful for those with cars that can't be registered and those who'd like to import a Tuscan or other modern TVR. Do you know where the owner lives/works?

Its what I'd do... I mean you can take it to a friendly garage and get a WOF for it... just means you can't use the vehicle that donated its plate- small price to pay for the use of a Tuscan!

Although I had hoped that the LTSA had come around when I read the first post Ah well.

Actually thinking back I had seen that plate before, about 2 years ago, on a Mini(a proper Mini, not a BMW 0-series)!
I thought it was strange at the time which made me take note of it.

The owner runs a WoF place just around the road from me, I'll see if I can catch him there one day.

Sounds like someone's been giving himself WOFS and bolting Mini-plates on his tuscan..... just as I suspected.... full marks for trying. Of course he may have been just transporting it somewhere and had affixed plated just to get less attention from the BiB, but you won't get waway with that for too long.... first cop that piulls you over because he wants to drool over the car will have your license.
