Right you lot..... since Ted's kindly set up this little forum for us, why don't we actually meet up sometime? I'm proposing maybe an Auckand meet but that's not to say that PHers from all over NZ (or the world) aren't more than welcome, it's just that there's 4 or 5 active posters in here from Auckland I believe so the location seems logical. Was just wondering if anyone would be keen? It'd be nice to put faces (and cars ) to names in here and it's so much easier to relate once you've met up in person.

If anyone's keen, then why don't we organise something? Could maybe have a meet-and-drive type thing were we meet somewhere and drive a nice road out to somewhere for lunch or whatever or maybe just an evening meeting in a Cafe/Pub etc for a meet/greet over a cuppa/pint.
Is anyone keen? Or am I just pushing faecal matter uphill suggesting this? Sound me out some interest if you have any and if we can get more than 3-4 people interested then it might be worth getting together..

How say you people?

Sounds like a good idea! So long as I can be treated as one of the lads too?

I havent been out to the new lotus cars location yet, be nice to oogle over the Noble and other exotica there, its out here in Waiuku which makes a nice drive out south:

www.lotuscars.net.nz/contact.php

I think they were opening a small cafe and art gallery as well but I can't see that part happening yet?.

Alternative choice out west could be The Hunting Lodge very nice Its a 130 year old colonial cottage set amidst gardens and vineyards and overlooking the beautiful Waikoukou Valley in Waimauku, 35 minutes northwest of Auckland city.
Drink and eat till you drop and then stroll across to the Matua Valley winery next door....what a shame You need a sober driver!
They have a roaring fire to warm the hands on too for those chilly winter days.

Dunno just some ideas.

Sounds good Kylie, nice ideas indeed.... and yeah we'll treat ya just like one of the lads...... hell you've got a far more blokey car than I'll be turning up in *cough*MitsubishiMirageSpaceWagon*cough* so as far as I'm personally concerned I'm not too worried about the drive bit as my car has the ability to turn even the most twisty road into the most awful, rubbery, bodyrolling mess :P But yea sounds all good.... you know the area much better than I so sounds good.... any more takers?

Heh I'll second that..... I'm actually after some more PH gear soon anyway.... my folks are coming to the UK in September so I'm going to place an order and have the stuff shipped to their UK address and they can bring it back for me (they come back the day after my birthday so will make a nice "pressie to self").... If I don't have the car to look the part.... I may as well have the right gear innit?!?!?..... Ted do you do Burberry PH Gear? LOL

I'm definitely keen
The new Lotus headquarters per Kylie could be awesome if they have any facilities
Otherwise Kylie - your suggestions are awesome
The question is when - both date & time

Another possibility could be an open day at the track

I would also be interested in a quick sort of meet up after work perhaps - maybe a centralish location - but somehow avoiding the trafic
FYI - I am based in Mt Wellington & live in Howick

Good ideas.... the trackday would be good so long as I could passenger round pukekohe as my wagon ain't really the best trackday weapon. I think a meet-up after work would be good as an ice-breaker.... I think once we've all met up in person once or twice, organising things like more ambitous meets like runs/trackdays would be easier.... as is always the trouble with getting like-minded individuals together over the net, the first meeting is always the hardest and most awkward to pull-off.... I reckon once we can get 4-5 or more people connected and realise that we're all reasonably mince people and not axe-murderers (except Izza.... you gotta watch that dodgy bugger) then things should hopefully roll fron there.
In NZ we're never going to have a big following and whole-country meet-ups would be very difficult to pull together but establishing some meet-ups that lead onto motoring-related events could be very cool indeed.

Cool well that's four or five so that's sounding good for a meet of some kind to go off. I'm all in favour.... how's everyone fixed on a Sunday in about 2 weeks time? 29th? Gives everyone plenty of time to clear some space in their diaries and for us to settle on a destination and what we want to do.... what say the masses?

Roger and I will be at Pukekohe on the 29th, why don't everyone bring a flask of hot soup some meat pies and come out. Its a driver training day run by Jaguar in conjuction with Lotus and a few other marques. I will be doing the higher speed sessions in the Loti, so a least you can find me am about 170 tall medium build with dark longish hair, I will be wandering around probably with a big camera round my neck if I get the chance to take pics. Roger will be in the black Capri if hes got it repaired by then. We are both friendly faces so you can feel free to bowl on up and say hello. With have all sorts of cars there so it will break the ice a bit for conversation etc. What do you think??

Sounds pretty good.... maybe we could meet beforehand and head out as a group/convoy? Would be nice to maybe have a meet+greet beforehand away from the track to break the ice?

Well I have to be up sparrows frt to be at the track at 9am so counts me out for a pre-meet at a decent time. But perhaps you guys could meet say at the Papakura BP on the motorway heading south. Theres a nice coffee shop there.

Come on people throw your suggestions in
