I know quite a few people who have imported cars and I dont know anyone who's had to change components.

Steam clean for a few hundred $ and rust is a problem but apart from that...

lemme know if you want anything checked out over here or any info etc, more that happy to help.

Hi Rob,
Thanks . If you see any Nobles advertised it would be interesting to compare prices. I will await a reply from Ken at Lotus who carries out the inspections ??

I emailed the factory last year, they made under 200 for 03/04 and orders for 05 were going to be under 200 too, however i've heard from a good source the 05 cars are over our threshold,so best do a thorough investigation.

Thanks Chevtrev.
If I brought over an 03 or 04 car ,do they take the number produced from that year of manufacture or the current ( 05 ) sales ???

also check www.autopoint.co.nz for car sales, tends to be mainly dealers whereas www.trademe.co.nz is a bit like ebay, you get everything.

Just to update. I had confirmation from the factory that in 2003 ( the year of the car I am looking at ) they produced under 200 cars. Ken at Lotus was kind enough to reply and he is going to get hold of the chap who has certified a Noble before under LVV .Apparently there are only 2 in NZ ?? He said there is no one to do direct compliance, but hopefully I should get in under LVV regs ???

The cost of the used one already in NZ was way more ( approx 40,000NZD ) than an equivalent over here ( obviously the tax and duty element has not helped there )

Drove one on Saturday......... V.quick !!!

I presume you mean that $40k is the difference.

If it's the all-up price put me down for a pair
