The guy who brought in the 4x4 Merc was on a work visa, but promised to apply for residency.
As for how long you have to own the car, the leaflet had a table of GST v length of ownership - started at 3 months (high %) if you'd had it more than 3 yrs it was low/nil. (I think!!)
Pretty sure he got the leaflet from a shipping company here in NZ.

Had to pay $1740 today for Customs and MAF and collected my TVR today.
Drove to Palmy from Lower Hutt with the roof off . Really enjoyed the drive and it is winter!!!
Need to get it registered now...
