naaahh, shields are for pussies! just cover the camera and/or turn your back at the right moment. or don't stand directly in the spray zone - often if you're up a bank or something it only hits your feet/legs


I do have a video that I took at one rally where you see an Escort go past rather sideways, then see my hand cover the lens and hear a few stones bouncing off the camera. When I get round to upgrading camera to a dSLR with a decent lens on it I'm gonna have to get some kinda of filter to protect the lens though, having gravel spraying at $1.5k worth of lens would not be a nice feeling...
