My sources tell me there are 5 F40's in NZ now . The Hawkes Bay car could be Phil Rudds car ( ACDC drummer ) ?? Bains car did end up with an Auckland owner who subsequently sold this ( still in NZ I think ) & bought in another from DK Engineering UK( been on the cover of Classic car .

just been chatting with a good friend in the ' know ' - think there's only 3 F40's in NZ , x2 in Auckland & one in Mt Maunganui ( Rudds car)Definitely an F50 in town also , seen both the F40 & 50 at CCS parked upstairs . Saw the 288GTO the other day at ForzaWorks , that's a pretty neat Fez .

Any pics? And the address of the guy? And where he keeps the keys for the F50? Wanted my one in yellow too.

On Dunedin's Southern Motorway today we were following a black Ferrari 458 Italia (sounded niiiiiccccee ) which then caught up to an R33 Skyline GT-R, and then they both planted it and flew away into the distance, followed by an R32 Skyline GTS-t drift car which also flew past us and took off in pursuit.
A couple mins later we see the GT-R coming back towards us on the other side of the motorway, then a few minutes after that the GTS-t was heading towards us, from yet another offramp.
Safe to say they would have had to been doing a heck of a lot over the speed limit to be able to pass us going the other way, like they did...
We saw the Ferrari again a while later when it was stuck at the traffic lights, but after a few sets of lights we lost it again.
Wondering if it is local, as wifey filmed it a couple of months back;

And the other day i saw a goldish Aston Martin DB9, and a black Dodge Viper SRT/10 a couple weeks back (first i've seen in person).

The guy that was making the Aston Martin using his 3d printer has a 250gto replica. I think he even had 250GTO for the plate. I'm off to see if I can find that story now.
Found it, it can be seen in the background. http://www.3news.co.nz/The-cheap-way-to-get-an-Ast...
Plus there was the one being regularly covered in the classic car magazine over the course of its build, not sure if it stayed in NZ. That was using a 330gt as a base I think.

Rod Tempero has built at least one (probably more) 250 GTO replicas by destroying "lesser" Ferraris for their running gear though I think these usually go overseas.
I've seen another replica made out of a 240Z which was better done than the usual MR2/355 style kit, there may be a few of those.
Never heard of a real one in NZ.

Ivan (younger brother) has the 240z with a 250gto fibreglass body kit / RB25DET in it.
I sat in Paul Halford's 250GTO rep (based on a 250GTE) the other day. With the seat fully back and the steering wheel off I still could not fit. And I'm not quite 6ft. You would be pissed if you did shell out the $15 - $20m with out trying it out for size first.
Paul also has the 288GTO, 275GTB4, 250 GT Europa, McLaren CanAm, 993RS, 911RS, Bora, Aurelia, Alfa Zagato, Alfa GTA and several others.
many of these will be at the HD Festival in Jan.
