It snowed on the way home. Meet / rub was a bit too fast n the furious for me. Lots of engine revving at the Tesco meet point, attracting unwanted attention from store staff & baffled customers. Put me off going again.
Not my style at all. In fact I would tell anyone doing that on a run I'm responsible for that they're not welcome. Best if they off whence they came. All it does is anatagonise non-petrolhead members of the public. Totally unnecessary and counter-productive.
The snow may have kept a lot of people at home that day but, imo, in normal circumstances 1.30pm on a Sunday afternoon is not the right time for a run.
There is simply far too much traffic in this neck of the woods for it to be an enjoyable experience.

I won't be attending this one, mostly due to weather. Will consider in summer.
Last "run" like this I did was probably 15 years ago, in the Elise. Presumably it's over narrow country roads?
Just asking because my current car is *extremely* wide, so not suited to the type of roads we used for the old Lotus runs.
Define narrow. Last "run" like this I did was probably 15 years ago, in the Elise. Presumably it's over narrow country roads?

95% of the roads we will be using are A or B roads.
Any unclassifieds will be relatively short linking sections.
Most will be wide enough for opposing traffic to pass without any drama.
Any that aren't will be taken at a moderate/slow pace as necessary.
No Banzai stuff.
UK weather is unpredictable. Summer is no guarantee.
You could start off sunny and 50 miles down the road be driving through a thunderstorm and torrential rain.
That said, I respect people's choices. I'm not twisting anyone's arm to take part if they prefer not to.

I will give it a try in summer, thanks. It's just memories of country roads on the old runs being narrow, although perfectly fine for my Elise back then. Current car I would use is an i8, which is horribly wide.
For reference, my old 4x4 Landcruiser was 1885mm wide. The i8 is 1942mm. Biggest BMW, the 7 series is 1902mm.

Same issue here.. mine is 2,037mm/1,940mm(mirrors folded)...I will give it a try in summer, thanks. It's just memories of country roads on the old runs being narrow, although perfectly fine for my Elise back then. Current car I would use is an i8, which is horribly wide.

Has KLan8456 seen he needs to mail.
Not having a crystal ball, I have no idea. Nothing in my Inbox or Spam folders.

He was down originally but not on the new list.
That's because he hasn't responded to confirm his continued interest after Andy pulled the plug .I have made it clear more than once why it is necessary.
There could be a number of reasons for him not contacting me.
I'm not going to second guess them on here though.
I've been organising runs (not PH) for 10 years.
Experience has taught me not to spend any time chasing after people.*
I did in the early days. You might be amazed how many people didn't answer e-mails/PMs
* So I resolved to stop doing so. Life is just too short.
I'm working on the route atm. Info will be e-mailed later this evening.
