Hi all,

The family Qashqai has gained some battle scars, including (but not limited to) wing, wheel, and suspension damage. Insurance has written off due to usual price of new parts/spraying. Currently mulling over whether to move on or buy back and repair. Should get over £3k after buying back, so with a secondhand wing & wheel (and not replacing headlamp or bumper which only have broken retaining clips/ scrapes) I would hope it would be much cheaper than the insurance's £5k estimate...

So, any recommendations for friendly garages who will do a decent job and be happy to use a few ebay parts (well, just wing and wheel!). What I am concerned about is any further damage under the car (subframe, mounting points etc.) as that could make it totally uneconomical to repair, so definitely somewhere that knows their onions!!

Cheers...

I am in the process of repairing our Astra van as insurance wrote it off due to cost of parts so we have bought it back and are putting a new headlamp unit and a new bumper which I have sprayed black back on it.
The small garage that we use are doing it for us but would not normally do bodywork but it’s a favour to us, one thing that the insurance company requires is a new mot as it is now got a cat N on it.
Although I am near you I cannot help with a body shop, sorry

Place in West Kingsdown I have used. I can get the name. Fitted/painted an eBay sourced bumper to our MR2 for not much money.

Wrong side of the river any good?

Place about a mile North of Blackwall is a Japanese Breakers who fit parts.

Good value and they know their stuff.
