Mobile Engine Tuners in Essex?

Does any one know of a good tuner in the Chelsmford/Colchester corridor that can get a Chevy V8 running so that it does't use a gallon of fuel on tick over!!!
I can't take it out on the road until March (new Reg)
I've tried contacting a few tuners but in the main all they want to do is plug a lap top in and fiddle, when you mention it's a four barrel 750 double pumper Speed Demon, it all tends to go quiet at the other end of the phone (can't say I blame them!)
