Living in Tonbridge

Thanks for the responses. I think all the Tonbridge trains start from Charing Cross. Am guessing that means chances of getting a seat and London Bridge are slim, regardless of if I were to arrive 10 mins early? Or do you know different hol?
AFAIK, some start from Charing Cross and are fast from Waterloo East. Those that may stop at LB will be busy at peak times. Some start from Canon St and iirc stop at LB but expect similar. One plus is that you can get T Wells/Hastings trains or Ashford/coast trains, so quite a few to choose from.

At LB you cannot guarantee a seat, but if you take the next opposite direction train to cannon street etc, you can be early for the next one. You either choose to be 20 mins later and sit, or stand for 40-odd.minutes.
Or pay first class .
I commute between Hildenborough and London Bridge. Never had a problem with getting a seat (even at peak time). Sometimes at London Bridge I do not get my preferred corner seat and have to squeeze in between people but that's not worth complaining.
But Sevenoaks commuters are not guaranteed a seat at peak times.

That would be caymanred... or so he used to be known, don't actually know the guy but remember the thread on his car taking a knock at the station.
I'm another Hildenborough resident, you may have seen one of the cars in my profile knocking about but for my sins I cycle to the station... was all going well until the weather changed today
I'm also the organiser of the Road races and family fun day every May bank holiday on the recreation ground - with so many local PH'ers I'm seriously tempted to try and get a car element introduced for next year

How about getting Sporting Bears along to do some rides? Some nice roads around Hildenborough (went to school there) Dalto123 said:

Not a bad idea, although I think if I did anything it would have to be static, unfortunately highways and the police already provide enough hoops to jump through just to allow the running races on the road, adding cars to that mix may be a step too far.No reason why I couldn't lay on something on a different day though...

Sweet! If something does work out I'd certainly be up for coming along. Used to go to school in Hildenborough and there are some very nice roads around there No reason why I couldn't lay on something on a different day though...

Your M3 isn't black is it? one just up the road from me that gurgles past me most mornings as I cycle to the station.
Will have to see what I can sort, might even be able to rope in a new café owner I know who lives locally and is into her toys as well
