Couple more...
The Magpies on the Amersham/Beaconsfield road, quite handy for M40 travellers...
and also thinking of m40 travellers: Kings Arms in Stokenchurch
And regarding the busy sunday lunch times...any pub known to have good food will be packed if it's a sunny day at Sunday lunch time!!!!!!

Both good suggestions with large parking areas. Or how about the Firescrest in Great Missenden.
Great Missenden? How on earth did you work out the firecrest is in Missenden? It's all of a mile outside of Wendover (and you should know) and easily three times that from GM
Sorry wasn't with it earlier! I meant to put its on the road between Wendover and Great Missenden.

I like this idea, nice place, good food, plenty of parking and i was involved in the building of it !

Where is the Crown Plaza?
It's the new hotel they built on the East side of the A404 near the Thames, over behind the fountain in the water skiers lake.
I'm not sure how to get into it though - through the trading Estate and under the A404 or off the Bourne End road (I've not seen any signs along there).
